Aspen Blue was feeling blue. With everything going on lately, and all of her emotions hitting her hard, the girl became totally mentally exhausted. She was under so much stress, and her brain was constantly being tricked and confused, and she honestly just needed rest.
So, she did what her mind told her and stayed in bed much longer than she usually did. She slept in extremely late, but it didn't matter to anyone. Both Tony and Peter were actually glad that the girl was choosing to sleep more, for they were constantly worrying about her mental health and knew a little extra rest would be good for her.
Peter Parker, however, was entirely active. His brain was filled with thoughts and he roamed the streets in attempt to find any crime that needed to be stopped.
Eventually, he made his way back to the Avengers tower and found his way to the presence of Tony Stark.
"H-Hey Mr. Stark? I was just, uh, wondering something..."
He had wanted to ask this question for a while now, but never had the gut to.
Tony cocked an eyebrow at the boy and Peter sucked in a nervous breath, clamping his sweaty palms together.
"After all of this is done, what am I going to be doing? I mean, once we help Aspen, I would have completed two serious missions with you; that has to mean something, right?"
Tony Stark pulled off his glasses with a sigh and cleaned them on his shirt. "How about we talk about this after we help Aspen, okay?"
In reality, Tony just isn't want to discuss that topic with Peter right then--mainly because he didn't know the answer. Sure, he wanted the boy to succeed and he wanted him to be an Avenger, but he didn't know if Peter was ready.
"Y-Yeah, okay.." Peter said in slight disappointment.
Wanting to change the subject, Tony continued taking. "Speaking of Aspen," the man began to smirk, "you like her." His words were statement rather than a question, for he already knew that it was completely true.
Peter's face grew bright red and he began to stutter wildly, trying to think of something to say.
"I'll take your complete inability to form sentence as a solid confirmation, so," he put his glasses back on and pointed at the boy, "ask her out!"
"W-What?! No! No, no, no, Mr. Stark, I can't just ask her out! Knowing her she would laugh at me or call me a loser or something!"
Tony thought about his words and nodded, "True. But still! Be confident, kid."
"I-I am plenty confident!" HIs voice cracked when he spoke.
Peter let out a sigh and rubbed the back of his neck, his eyes on the floor. "Just with everything going on with her, I don't think it's a good idea right now. Besides, it's not like that.."
"What do you mean?"
Was he really ready to do this? Was Peter ready to admit exactly how he felt about Aspen, even if it's to someone other than her?
"It's different be-because, I love her..."
Apparently he was ready.
"Oh, yeah, I know that." Tony said shaking his head. "I just wanted to hear you say it out loud."
Peters mouth dropped and an incredulous look spread across his face.
Tony started to chuckle lightly and leaned back in his chair. "I think waiting is a good idea. Once we help her, she be finding happiness again and you can help keep her that way."
