Instead of my alarm waking me its birds. That's weird that never happens unless I woke before my alarm. I check the time, "Shit" I shout. The clock reads 6:45 I'm gonna be late! With out thinking I shoot my webs in the direction of my clothes that are hanging. I end up grabbing a greenish shirt and blue jeans. Then I make sure I look decent, pop my shoes on and I'm out the door.
There is no way I will get there in time by walking. Once again New York fails me again with no cabs, lovely. I spring twisting and turning with the road and its corners until I'm there. My lungs scream for air as I'm stepping inside.
She sits at the table by the window with a steaming cup. Gently I grab her shoulder making her jump. "Haha sorry I didn't mean to scare you" I say chuckling. She removes her hand from her chest and giggles.
"It's okay" she says, "sorry I already ordered, I was thirsty." "It's alright, I'll be right back though." I swiftly stand but my foot catches my chair nearly making me fall. Luckily I caught myself. She starts laughing a little, I feel my cheeks heat up with blush as I nervously scratch the back of my neck.
That was close but hey it made her smile. I reach the counter and order my coffee then turn to look at her. She had her hair in waves that flowed over her scarf and leather jacket. The jacket clung to her small frame which wore a black tank top paired with dark blue skinny jeans and black heeled boots. Sage looks amazing but it is some what warm outside, why bundle up?
"Sir, your order" said the soft spoken barista, breaking me of my thoughts. "Thanks" I say handing her the cash and leaving. Once I sit back down the conversation begins and doesn't break. We laugh and talk for what felt like hours but was actually 15 minutes.
"So wait you're from here? As in Queens" she says seeming shocked. "Yeah, why? Do I not look like it?" "Not at all" she laughs. "Honestly you look like some kid from Nebraska." I laugh and take a sip of my coffee."What about you?" "I'm from all over. My folks sort of disappeared when I was little. After that I was passed from foster home to foster home. Once I was 18 I came here." "Oh I'm sorry I shouldn't have asked" I state looking down at my cup.
"No you're alright, besides it was along time ago Peter" she says gently grabbing my hand. I swallowed hard when I look at our hands. Suddenly police sirens pierce our ears as they fly by. You have got to be kidding me, of all times they pick now.
"I um have to go. I'll see you later." With that I grab my backpack and bolt out the doors. Man I wish I didn't have to leave, but duty calls.
~Sage's POV~
Before I can even get a single word out he runs off. I don't know why he did, maybe they were going towards his place or something. I do know who they were chasing after, Koda fucked up. My eyes roll slightly as I head toward my motorcycle.
Speeding as much as I can I try to reach Koda but it's too late. He is already strung up in Spider-Man's webbing. If I try to help him then I will get caught. Besides it's his own damn fault plus the cops are already here. Lucas is gonna be pissed. Guess that means I'm skipping today to tell him.
I should go now so the sun doesn't cook me. Peter noticed me wearing layers of clothing. They are to cover the after math of last night unfortunately. All I can think about is what happened last night as I ride to the warehouse. When before I know it I'm there.
