~Peter's POV~

Everything hurts, every breath I take is just pure pain. My chest feels like my veins were filled with gasoline and someone dropped a match. Then I hear this mumbling come from a soft voice. It sounded so sweet and pure. I listen closely to the words it speaks. "Please god don't take him." I hear her voice choking back sobs. "Please Peter, please don't go."

Her face flashes through my mind, Sage. That soft, sweet, warm voice belongs to to Sage. She saved me, she pulled me out of the building, she fought Chance. Suddenly I feel this tightness in my hand and this moisture seeping into my suit. I wanted to see her but opening my eyes was too much of a struggle.

It takes all the strength I have to open them just a sliver. Then there she was, holding my hand tightly while her tears fall like rain in the spring. I need to tell her I'm here. Carefully I squeeze her hand and the sobs silence. "Peter?" Her eyes meet mine as joy starts to fill them. "Oh my god Peter" she shouts.

Slowly I sit up and wrap her softly in my arms.

"I thought you were gone. I thought I lost you" she sobs into my shoulder. "Shh I'm not leaving you, never again." This wave of relief just washes over me. She hugs me tighter causing me to wince in pain. "Did I hurt you? I'm so sorry." She flinches when I squeeze her just slightly.

Sadness and anger fills me just thinking of all the beatings she took. Thankfully that is never going to happen again, I'm never going to let that happen. "Hey" I say titling her chin up to look at me. I'm never going to do that to you. You are safe with me."

Sage just gives me a simple and small nod. Slowly I lean in and place my forehead on hers. I didn't feel pain anymore, I felt amazing. Electricity shoots through my entire body, making me feel alive. She takes a deep breath and speaks, "come on you are hurt let me fix you." "You already have."

She just laughs a little and rolls her eyes, "alright enough with the sappy stuff." Yep that's my girl.

I watch as she walks away to grab the first aid kit. While she is gone my eyes wander. I spot something gleaming in the corner. There lies two bowls and a bed. It was Luka's bed and dog bowls. They lay empty now, waiting to be filled and used. Sadness once again consumes me knowing the pain she is going through.

I swallow the lump in my throat and continue to look around. Then I spot a blue collar with a bone shaped tag laying on the nightstand. She is hurting so bad. I hear the sound of her bare feet padding along on the hard floor as she saunters back into the room and kneels in front of me.

It's then I notice the dry sticky blood clinging to her skin and clothes. She it hurt and hurt bad. I gently grab her arm before she has a chance to fix me. My eyes carefully examine her wounds. He clothes are torn to shreds and were replaced with long deep cuts and bite marks.

"Let me fix you" I say softly. She shakes her head no as she applies medicine.

This stinging sensation spreads through my chest. "Ow!" "I'm sorry, I know it hurts." I sigh in pain as she dabs the cut. "Just take a couple deep breaths." Her voice was so calm and steady when she said it. I wince again and this time she just chuckles. "Oh relax you big baby." Then a small chuckle escapes my lips.

Her beautiful smile spreads across her face. It's then I really notice her eyes, and I mean really notice them. The right one is this beautiful aqua blue while the other is the bright golden sun color.

Before when I first looked at them I was disgusted, knowing what creature they belonged to made me hate them. Now I see the purity in them, I see how mesmerizing and hypnotic they are. Suddenly the stinging sensation becomes numb as I watch her focus.

"What are you looking at Parker?" "You." Her beautiful white smile appears again. Gently I cup her face and press it to mine. Her lips are soft and sweet, they remind me of honey but taste like mint. No matter how many times I kiss them I will never get over them. She pulls away and tucks her bottom lip between her teeth.

Both of us start laughing once we look at each other. "Here, it's my turn to patch you up" I say taking he rag from her. She too hisses in pain but tries to remain tuff. With each sound she makes I kiss the pain away. When I really think about it the only way I can describe her is like this; Sage is a fire in the veins, tornado on the soul and a hurricane on the heart. I wouldn't want her any other way.
