~Sage's POV~

Tears slip down my cheeks as I lay by my window again. Seeing him today was just too much for me to handle, I wanted to run to him, pull him close, kiss his soft lips. At the same time I felt like he was repulsed by me, like he was just filled with disgust. I love him but I shouldn't. We should be mortal enemies yet I love him.

My tears start falling more rapidly. I am in love with Peter Parker be he doesn't share the same love. Eventually the tears lessen and my breathing becomes shallow. My eyes feel dry and heavy along with my heart. I can't take it any longer, so I close my eyes letting the darkness consume me.

Light taps on my window wake me. I cross my fingers in hopes it's Peter. Slowly I turn and open my eyes to see the red and blue figure of Spider-Man aka Peter Parker. He clung to my window looking at me. I go to unlatch the window but he shakes his head.

I don't understand why he doesn't want to come in. Why is he even here? He pulls off his mask, letting his brown locks dangle gently on his forehead. His eyes were filled with sadness when I look in them. The pin I felt just seeing his face can't be described. I just want to be in his arms again.

Slowly I lift my hand pressing it to his on the window. He presses his forehead to the glass. Something seems to be eating away at him. Suddenly this loud bang erupts from the city just down the street. Flames start to lick at the sky, Peter's eyes no longer show sadness but fear. His gaze moves back to meet mine. Screams are filling the air at this point.

I pound on the glass, trying to keep Peter's attention. Whatever is going on I can sense it really dangerous. He need to let someone besides himself handle it. Let the avengers take care of it. "I have to go" he mouths. "Peter no! Peter" I shout. "Peter don't do this. Don't go." "I'm sorry" he mouths.

"Peter don't" I shout. "I love you" he says. "Please, please don't go" I cry. Then he is gone with out a trace. It was like my eyes were tricking me and my ears were hearing things. He said he loves me. "I love you too" is all I manage I whisper, but it's too late he's gone. My hands still feel the smooth glass as I rest them where his once were.

Quickly I rise from my spot and run to the television. What I see before me is a terrible sight. One of Lucas's home made weapons has destroyed a apartment complex. The building is totally engulfed in flames, it's about ready to come crumbling down.

No, Peter is in there! One good gust of wind and he is gone forever. I run out of my apartment, phasing in the process. I have to help him. When I get there is ed people standing all around watching the flames, mouths agape. This blood curdling scream echoes through the air into my ears.

"I'm coming" I hear his voice shout. He won't make it in time. With out even thinking I sprint up the crumbling stairs, flames attempting to attack my fur. "Where are you" I shout, the heat growing intenser by the second. "Here! I'm in here!" I follow the voice into a small bedroom. This little girl sits on her floor rocking back and forth, crying.

"Shh, I'm going to get you out of here." She sniffles and nods. "Get on my back." She does as told and climbs on wrapping both her legs and arms around me. I then spin around and notice there is only a small window of time before the dresser collapses in front of the door way. Not knowing what to do I just go for it.

Unfortunately I want fast enough, the dresser falls blocking out only exit. I did the only thing I could think of, praying to god it would work I leap over the dresser. My paws touch some what stable ground and I bolt outside. Clean air starts to fill my lungs as we breath it in. "Mommy" shouts the little girl as I cough. A woman appears from the cluster of people that have gathered. Tears run like rivers on her cheeks. The girl runs to her mother as part of the building collapses right before our very eyes. "Peter!"

I sprint back inside, not caring about the fire or its intense heat. I desperately try to find him. "Peter where are you?!" Suddenly I hear this grunting sounds, it's him. I don't hesitate to run to him, the grunting getting louder the closer I get. Then there he was, beaten and bloody. Cuts covering his body as blood seeped into the suit. He lay on ground, clearly unable to move.

This snarling sound then appears, I look around looking for its source. I'm then met with the black and white figure of Chance. His teeth and lips are soaked with Peter's blood. Bits of his suit dangling between his clenched jaws. Pure rage just pierces through me. "Awe look it, the little puppy came out to play." I don't say anything but stand my ground in front of Peter, blocking him from Chance's sight. "Say hi to Luka for me bitch." He charges at me and I follow.

Chance tries to scratch my face but I snap my jaws shut around his paw. He screams in pain as he attempts to pull away. I release and lung for his throat but he somehow manages to grab my scruff. Pure pain spreads through my body as I cry out. He pulls me off my feet and throws me.

Then he tries to run towards Peter but I tackle him. Chance is disoriented so I try to help Peter. More cracking sounds come from the building. I have to get him out of here, this building is going to fall any minute. Suddenly there is this white hot pain spreads through my leg as it's yanked from beneath me. I watch as Peter stumbles to the ground, his hand reaching for me  in desperation.

I rip my leg away sending more pain through it. He scratches my back as I try to turn. Then suddenly I'm blind sided by a blow to my face. I feel the wet sticky residue of blood trickle down my face as the pain runs along my eye. It's still there I can feel it but I'm badly hurt. Blindly I jump on him, knocking him to the ground. I ruffle grab part of his ear between my jaws and tear it off and spit it at him.

He screams and hollers in pain as the building creaks more. I grabs Peter and run. He is so weak I have to carry him on my back. We find a side entrance and run through it  and down the ally towards home. My eyes burn from the smoke and the cut. This crashing sound grabs my attention making me stop in my tracks as I look back at the ruble. The building is gone. I sigh and continue on my way eventually reaching home.

Each and every breath he takes is shorter and shallower then the last. I grasp his hand between both of mine and kiss it softly. He is struggling for each breath now. "Please god don't take him." Tears begin to well in my eyes. "Please Peter, please don't go."
