MAD

Penny POV

I looked into Talon's eyes. I really wanted to kiss him. But as he began to lean in, it was almost as if Cheif Quimby's voice came back in, telling me about the mission. Then I remembered that Talon knew who I was. I sighed. He probably was going to hate me for this.

I turned my head, and Talon's soft lips kissed my cheek. I closed my eyes, enjoying it but Talon backed away. I looked at him and saw hurt fill his eyes.

"Talon-" I said softly, but he got to his feet and turned away from me.

"Sorry. That was a stupid idea. I should have never tried it," anger lined his words.

Uh-oh. As much as I wanted to tell him it wasn't a stupid idea and how much I wanted to kiss him, I knew he wouldn't forgive me.

"I-I'm sorry. But I have a mission," I looked down, knowing how bad my words sounded.

He turned, his hands clenched, "Shut up Penny! I know all you care about is HQ and being the best. I'm sick of it!"

I took a step back as Talon's words startled me.

He glared at me then stared at the floor, "I liked you. And I thought you liked me too," he looked back up at me unhappily, "but I guess I was wrong."

I blinked, trying to register his words. He liked me!

I took a step towards him, "Talon, please-"

He held up a hand, "Save it Penn. I don't care anymore. You want your mission? Fine. But I'm not going to let you win this time."

I looked at him as tears began to fill my eyes, "I wish it didn't have to be like this."

He reached for his gum gun but couldn't find it. I reached behind my back and grabbed it from there (I had stolen it during that little moment) , taking aim.

"I'm not going to hurt you Tal," I said softly.

His face twisted with anger and he lunged at me. Quickly, I shot the gum at him. He started struggling so I did it even more till he was almost all covered in the gum.

"I'm not going to hurt you, Tal," I repeated then started walking towards the roof entrance back into the castle.

I opened the door and was about to go through but then I hesitated.

I didn't look back at him, but I said it loudly so he would hear, "I know you're not going to listen to me. And I know you hate me now. But for the record, I did want you to kiss me. I don't know why, but I do like you. A lot. I- I'm sorry."

I would have said more, but I knew that if I opened my mouth again, I would have started crying. So I left.

As I started running down the stairs, I heard Talon yelling my name angrily outside. I smiled grimly. For the first time, I said the last word.

Talon POV

As soon as Penny walked at that door, shock kept me quiet for a second. She does like me! But I then glowered, she betrayed me. Rage quickly took over and I started yelling at her, for her to come back, horrible insults and I felt my heart breaking. I kept screaming for a while. How long I don't know, it was until my voice became hoarse.

I became quiet and tried figuring out a way to escape. Hard, cold anger was running through me and the adrenaline was high. Struggling, I found my bracer. I opened it up and it cut through the gum.

From a not so short distance away, I heard, "Go Go Gadget escape route!"

Penny had to still be in here! I tried to quickly cut through the gum. Smart me did too good of a job. I finally freed myself and dashed down the stairs. I ran to my room and saw Penny's undercover stuff and ran to the bathroom for the weapon. Crap. She must've taken it. I burst out of my door and suddenly saw her down the hall. Her eyes looked red as if she had been crying. For a second, I didn't remember anything and just wanted to wrap her in my arms and comfort her. I took a step towards her and that was enough to break the spell. Fear swarmed her eyes and she dashed away. What was she so afraid? She had nothing to be afraid of!

"But I'll give her something to be afraid of," I growled.

I hit the alarm button and alarms throughout the castle were soon blaring. I knew where Penny was headed. And I went to bring her down. For good.

I ran towards the computer rooms and saw her try and get pass my security codes. I smiled happily when she failed again and again to get it right. I stepped towards her, and attacked. She wasn't going to leave again. I had a weapon with me. I had taken a quick pit stop. I didn't know what it was or did, but I knew it was dangerous. Uncle C had it locked up with the label 'DEADLY. DO NOT TOUCH THEM, TALON!'

I aimed the pistol looking machine at her and said harshly, "Hello and Goodbye Pretty Penny."

Penny POV

Like always, just when I thought I could complete the mission, Talon just had to show up. I turned around slowly and saw him glaring at me with hate simmering behind his eyes. A sob lodged it's way into my throat and I wanted to run. Both away and at him, at the same time. That was before I saw what he was holding.

"Talon? What is that?" I gulped.

He lifted up what looked like a pistol and trailed a finger down it. Goosebumps rose on my skin and I looked at it warily.

"To be honest, Penn, I have no idea. But it was labeled as dangerous and I figured it was meant for me." he studied me and I still couldn't stop my heart from galloping a bit, "I hope you have fun on the other side."

He aimed at me and I squeezed my eyes shut.

Suddenly I hear, "Go Go Gadget helping hand!"

Uncle Gadget broke a hole into the room and collapsed in a heap. I open my eyes wide when Talon seems to reconsider pulling the trigger at me. I breathed a sigh of relief but then panicked again as he swings the gun around to point to Uncle Gadget!

"Now feel my pain," Talon looked unnatural in the lighting, his face twisted.

He pulled the trigger, and it felt like time started to slow down. What comes out of the gun was not some fancy weapon, it was actual bullets. I screamed for Uncle Gadget to move but he was out. I began to run, and tried to intercept the bullet.
