Luke's POV

We arrived at my house and I was holding Lily's hand. I actually felt happy right now.

Ashton was about to dive when he saw us in the garden and instantly, all eyes were on us. Ashton's head snapped at our hands and he quickly got out of the pool. He pointed a finger at me and then to the kitchen so I let go of Maya's hand and walked to my kitchen. Was he going to be mad at me or what ?

Ashton's POV

When Luke and Lily walked in the garden, I immediately saw their hands. Were they together or something ? I just wanted to know so I pointed a finger at the kitchen and he slowly walked towards it.

"What's happening with Lily?" I snapped. Last time Luke was with someone, he ended up hurt and I didn't want anything like that a second time.

"Well, earlier I asked her to be my girlfriend?" He said more like a question.

"WHAT??" I shouted.

I think they all heard in the garden but who cares ? I'm just trying to protect my best friend.

"I know it sounds crazy but I want to give it a shot. She's the first girl I've liked since J." He responded aggressively.

"Are you insane, she's just with you because you're famous." I screamed

Two seconds later Lily arrived in the kitchen.

"What is he talking about?" She asked tears running down her face. Luke opened his mouth to respond but couldn't say a word.

"Luke," she said louder. Luke didn't say a word. Instead, he remained silent. She ran to the garden and grabbed her stuff. She left skateboard in hand.

"I-I'm so sorry Luke. I'm just trying to protect you." I said embarrassed.

He glared at me, pointing a finger at me, but he didn't say a word. He ran past me completely ignoring me. I heard the door of his car slam.

What have I done ?

Lily's POV

Is that how he sees me, like a stupid chick only with Luke for his money ? And what does he mean by 'famous' ?

I continued my way to Lissa's house. Right, I just want to be in my bed under the covers watching Stranger Things on Netflix.

I was only 5 minutes away from the house when I heard a car's horn. I turn around and saw Luke trying to get my attention. He parked to the beach and ran over to me. He grabbed me by my wrists and tried to hug me but I just backed away. He looked hurt but so was I.

For a whole minute, we stared at each other without a word being said before he broke the silence.

"I'm sorry." He said looking at his feet.
