I woke up that morning quite confused as I didn't recognise the room, then I remembered last nights events and I smiled to myself, I really did have the best Dad ever! Speaking of Dad, he walked into the room fully dressed bringing breakfast on a tray!
"Morning Roxy, did you sleep well last night" Asked Dad as he put breakfast down on the coffee table and sat down on another chair.
"Best sleep I've had in ages thanks!" I replied
"Hermione's coming over in a minute or two to come and see you, I owled her this morning to tell her where you were, I figured she'd be worried" Dad explained and sure enough, as soon as he finished speaking, there was a timid knock on the door.
"Come in" Said Dad and Hermione came in, carrying a change of clothes for me.
"Good morning Professor Lupin, Roxy" She said and greeted us with a smile.
"Well, I'm going to make a hot chocolate, does anyone else want one?" Asked Dad
"YES PLEASE!" I said loudly and Hermione nodded and both laughed at me! The cheek of them! I gave Hermione a playful shove but she shoved back so I shoved her again and she toppled off the end of the bed! I guess I still don't know my own strength!
"Roxy Lupin you are so dead!" Hermione threatened in a low voice and I hopped out of bed and started running around the room in my pyjamas! I ran slowly so 'Mione would think she was catching up then I would run away from her. Being a werewolf, I am fast, strong and don't tire easily, this means I always win in tag! After a minute or two, I got bored so I turned around suddenly, jumped over 'Mione and picked her up from behind and dumped her on the bed. The whole time she was protesting and I was laughing and I flopped down onto the bed beside her and we both sighed at the same time. Making us both giggle!
Finally, Dad walked in with the hot chocolates so we sat up, thanked Dad for our hot chocolates and started to drink them. Unfortunately, as I was drinking, my pyjama sleeve fell down, exposing my scar that said 'freak' in capitals. Both Hermione and Dad sucked in breath at the scar and I didn't realise until too late that they had seen it also it was pointless trying to cover it up. It was a relatively new scar as well so it was still red showed up a lot against my pale skin.
"Your Mother did that didn't she?" Asked Hermione. I nodded at her and Dad looked like he didn't trust himself to speak until he said
"Why?"
" When I went through my last transformation before school started, I nearly him Mother in the face so she locked me into my cellar and when I transformed back, she etched the word freak into my arm so that everyone would know what I am" I said glumly. Hermione looked as if she was about to cry and Dad looked fuming.
"What do you mean 'Your cellar'?" Asked Dad in barely more than a whisper. Whoops, I hadn't meant to say that.
"I-I didn't say my cellar did I? I-I meant THE cellar, n-not my cellar! That would mean that I sleep there, which I don't!" I tried to convince them. They didn't buy it. I think it was because I was stuttering and that face was slowly turning red. I really hated Mother right now, she's making me seem like I'm weak! I suddenly got mad and decided to show them, convince them, that I was not weak.
"Let me just get something straight here. I am NOT weak and incapable of looking after myself. Everyone is getting mad on my behalf or feeling sorry for me. I don't want pity! This has become normal for me and I can deal with it. Besides, it's in the past and there is nothing you can do about it so please don't pity me!" I shouted, and it seemed to get the message across.
"Sorry Roxy, I know you're not weak and if that's how I'm making you feel, I really am sorry! You are one of the most capable witches I know and my best friend." Apologised Hermione and she gave me a hug which I gladly returned. Dad didn't say anything, he just looked at the ground in shame, thinking of an apology but I went and gave him a hug to show that I wasn't mad at him and that I forgave him.
Remus's POV ______________________________________________________
'I'm not mad at you Dad' I heard Roxy say in my head and I knew that I was forgiven so I hugged her back.
"Now then. Are we going to let these hot chocolates go cold?" I asked and Roxy ran straight over to her drink and downed it in one. She does amaze me some times! Hermione was laughing at her antics and I soon joined in along with Roxy.
"Right, I'm going to get changed" Roxy announced and she headed to the bathroom and I gathered up the cups and headed to the kitchen to clean up and Hermione got out a book and started to read. While I was washing up, I was thinking about what Roxy had said. She wasn't weak at all but that didn't stop me from getting mad at Christina. I'm going to make sure she has the most loving home I can give her. Just then, Roxy walked in wearing jeans and a long sleeved t-shirt on saying 'Born to Prank!'.
"Dad, yo know how it's full moon tonight, I was wondering if I could stay with you. I doubt that you would hurt another werewolf and you might even recognise me. It could be fun!" Roxy suggested and I thought about it.
"Okay then, come up here half an hour before sundown. That's after dinner anyway. To make sure you aren't seen coming up here, simply say the spell 'Absconditus' and you will be rendered invisible. To become visible again, say 'Promptus'. Give that a try now and see if you can do it" I informed her.
"It's funny when you go into teacher mode you know!" Roxy said cheekily
"Just do the spell!" I said with a laugh
"Absconditus!" Roxy said and she disappeared from sight, she did it!
"Okay, now do the counter charm, Promptus" I instructed
"Oooh! I'm invisible! This could be useful for pranks!" Roxy said excitedly and I groaned. What have I just done? Just then Hermione screamed and I went into the living room. Roxy was holding Hermione's hairup so as not to hurt her but it was a funny sight and I couldn't help chuckling.
"It's not funny Professor!" Hermione cried and Roxy dropped her hair.
"Promptus!" I heard Roxy whisper and she appeared at the other end of the room
"How did you do that?" Asked Hermione and Roxy just tapped her nose.
"Anyway's, we'd better be going 'Mione, the boys will be wondering where we are!" Roxy announced and Hermione put her book in her bag and walked to the door.
"Thanks for the drink Professor" Hermione said
"Yeah, thanks Dad, for the drink and letting me stay here last night and not making a big fuss about it" Roxy said and she came over and gave me a hug and I hugged her back.
"That's aright Roxy, you're always welcome here, no matter what time, if you need me" I promised her and she smiled at me gratefully and both girls headed out of the door. I turned the bed back into a sofa and sat down and got my work out. I started to plan my lessons for the week and marked the students work. Barely ten minutes into my work, there was knock on my door.
