a girl's moon

a girl's moon

she was a sunkissed wonder,
dancing on the qualms
of the doubtful
and laughing at her own ruins
without fear;
she could see a million miles
further than the average man
and could fly a million times
higher than the average bird.
she was a
catastrophic
ruination
of her own making
and of own her decisions—
she leant on no one
and loved only
the moon
because
its holes and craters
mirrored her own.
