there is a certain time in your life in which you experience a moment
you'll want to turn into infinity,
and in that is a certain epiphany.
yesterday
i felt the moment of a lifetime.
you looked at me and i burned under your gaze, like your eyes could torch all of the fibers of hair and layers of skin and constellations of freckles. and you reached over because, it seemed, it was a sudden impulse and i wasn't prepared but neither were you, and in that way it was alright and when your lips met mine like all the worlds in the universe were colliding i felt my heart collapse and sigh and shudder and break and mend and tear apart and pour and come to an utter stop --
when the warmth left my lips you turned and went away because you and i both didn't know what to do and even so, i wish it could have gone on for an eternity.
i would, without regret, without doubt,
live for millions of years, watching trees older than me age and die all around me, watch clouds dissipating into tears everyday, watch little children grow to be beautiful people with good hearts, watch more sunrises and sunsets than there are humans on this earth --
if i could have the chance to do it, all, with you.
