There's never one sunset
The same as before.

*I think im gonna tell the whole story from Jaspers's POV btw*~Jasper~
Gleaming sunbeams sneak their way through my curtains. "Woah, good morning to you too mother nature." Stretching the sleep out of my rested body, I throw back the covers gently and place my feet on the carpet. Opening up the curtains, I allow more sunlight into my humble abode. The sound of chirping rides the breeze, travelling through my room. The sound of summer. What a beautiful sound. If only it was the beginning of summer instead of two weeks away from the first day of school.
"JASPER, CAN YOU COME HERE FOR A MINUTE?" Dad's voice echo's through the house, bouncing off the walls. I quickly throw on a hoodie, allowing its warmth to embrace me, and clumsily bound down the stairs. "Yeah, what's up?" A cold shiver runs down my spine as the brisk, morning air collides with my face. "I need you to run to the store for me quickly." He says whilst rushing around. "Okay, for what?" I catch myself as all his rushing creates air which almost sweeps me off my feet. "Milk. I need it to finish making the cake for your aunts birthday!" It's my aunts birthday? Hmm. "Okay, um, let me just go get chang.." "No, theres no time. She's coming over in an hour. You look fine, now go on." He throws me the keys landing them perfectly in my outstretched hand. "Okay, i'll be back soon!"
When the lights come on and i'm on my own, will you be there to sing it again? Could I be the one you talk about in all your stories? Can I be him? The sound of my faint voice blends in with his beautiful singing. James Arthur never fails to fuck with my emotions ughh. Finally, I see the sign for the store in the distance. Your independent Grocer. It stands out against the slight morning fog. I pull in the parking lot, hitting the occasional bump in the road. I turn off the car, locking the doors as I make my way to the store.
Now, where are the fridges in this store? Aisle one, baking. Nope. Aisle two, canned goods. Nop.. "Are you following me green eyes?" As the words chorus through my ears, I come to a halt. I turn around to face him, catching a glance of the small smirk playing at his lips. "Well considering I'm here to get something for my dad, I guess the real question is are you following me?" Our smirks now matching as I await his answer. "What can I say, I just had to see those green eyes again." I can feel my cheeks blazing. Why am I blushing? I don't even know this boy! "Chill, i'm joking. I work here." Wow, it's like he aknowledged my personal thoughts. I let out a breath that I didn't realize I was holding in. "Why haven't I ever seen you here before?" I say, curiosity interlaced with every tone of my voice. "I only recently got upgraded to cashier. I used to work.... I guess you could say behind the scenes." A small smile spreads across his face as I nod in agreement. He looks down apon his old, beaten up converse before his eyes meet mine once again.
"Hey, you should come sit down with me so i'll have company as I eat my lunch!" 10:32 Am, I still have 30 minutes until my aunt comes over. "Yeah sure." I say, trailing behind him to the lunch area. "Pick a seat, pick any seat." He motions to the single leather couch. Taking a seat on one of the cushions. "Wow, so much variety." Sweet laughter fills the atmosphere as I take the remaining seat next to him.
(R-River, J-Jasper)
R-Do you want something to eat? You can have half of my sandwich.
He offers me the untouched section of sandwich.
J-No, that's okay. I'm not really hungry.
R-Okay, suit yourself.
I take in my surroundings as he eats. The rooms pretty basic. White walls covered in thick black frames. They showcase cheeky pictures of the employee of the month for what seems like years. My eyes travel along the row before landing on the very last one. River. He holds up his cashier uniform in one hand, the other making a fist in the air. The rest of the picture seems kinda blurry because his smile is really the only thing I can focus on. It's probably the one thing that's prettier than his eyes. It's such a genuine look of happiness, something that's pretty rare nowadays. I can see how somebody could fall In love with that smile.
R- Whatcha looking at?"
I snap out of my trance.
J-Oh nothing, I was ju...
*Ring* Ring* Ring*
I glance down at my screen. Dad. Omg i completely lost track of time, dads gonna kill me.(D-Dad, J-Jasper)
D-Justin, Where in the world are you?!
I can sense the worry in his voice. Or is that Just anger?
J-Um, traffic is backed up. Oh, it looks like it's moving again I gotta go!
D-Jaspe..
I shut the call off quickly.
"I gotta go. I'm sorry I just f.." "It's fine, I heard him." Wow, was my dad really that loud? Probably. I giggle under my breath. "Okay, I'll see you around!"
I grab my keys, jumping up. Quickly, I glance at his name on the wall. River Wilson.
~Time skip to later that night~
"8:30 PM. The sun should be setting by now!" I unlatch my window and make my way to the small roof located infront of my room. The warm summer breeze washes my worries away as the colours roll in. It's a clear night. There's no filter conceling natures beauty. The sun creates an ombre ripple effect. Fading from baby blue to a pastel pink. The colours bleed into each other like a water painting. Except, I don't think I would ever be able to create such art with manmade appliances. These nights were always my moms favourite. She said they made the mountains in the distance all that clearer, and that she wanted to have that clear view when I moved them. I hope heaven is giving her that view.
I get lost in my own thoughts as the stars emerge, masking the colours. There's so many thoughts I could be thinking rn. What I need to buy for school, What I need to do tomorrow, What Dad is up to that smells really good. There's so many things I could and should be thinking about right now. So tell me why the only thing on my mind is River...
A/n: I'm so so sorry for not updating in three days. I really have no excuse. But I'm sorry. Anyways, I hope you guys enjoyed and I'm sorry for any mistakes I may have made.👋🏻
