From the back of the local grocery market.
An offer
An offense
A bloody terrible thing.
Yet
The temptation was overwhelming.
A mystery forced her to pick up the cigarette
To bring it to her lips.
And to pull a drag
That was the start of a terrible relationship.
Her and her temptation
So wrong, yet
So right
She couldn't survive a day without it.
Yet it could live weeks without her.
The perfect definition, the ideal one sided relationship.
Her mother was in London
Her father was in Cambridge
Her siblings were spread out across Europe
No one remained to guide her
No one remained to help her
She was alone
