Baby Birds

A small baby bird

Lies trapped in her shell

She's safe under her mothers arms

From the wrath of hell.

But poor baby bird

Wanted to fly

And off she went

Without a goodbye.

No longer protected

With her mothers guidance

The small baby bird

Wept tears of silence.

The open world

Was not accepting

And society judged her

Even when she was surrendering.

She longed for her mother

And regretted her decision.

Her poor mother's heart

Was surely broken.

Let this be a lesson

To those far and wide

Never leave home

Without a goodbye.
