Dandelions (NaLu, Short Story)

Chapter 2

Natsu stood in front of his mirror the next day and looked for the perfect outfit for his day out with Lucy. Natsu couldn't sleep he was so excited. He had the entire night planned out. But then slowly realized that what he had planned, they weren't going on any roller coasters.

Natsu's stomach churned at the thought, causing his motion sickness to kick in. Knowing Lucy, she would want to go on as many roller coasters as she can. And leave Natsu dead on the ground after wards.

Natsu finally found peace in an outfit that didn't make him worry about how he would look in front of Lucy. Natsu ruffled his hair and gave himself a nod of approval. Natsu grabbed his phone and headed out of his bed room door. Natsu stood in front of the front door as he put his shoes on.

"Where are you going son?" Grandeeney asked, as she dried her hands with a wash cloth from doing dishes. "I'm going to the carnival that's in town with Luce." Natsu promptly answered, giving his cheeky grin. Grandeeney smiled, seeing that her son was happy. Natsu headed out the door and made his way down the side walk to Lucy's house.

Natsu knocked on Lucy's front door and awaited an answer. Natsu hears shuffling from inside, then a voice shouting, "QUIT BEING WEIRD MOM!" Suddenly, the door swung open and revealed Lucy hopping on one foot trying to get both shoes on. Natsu chuckled then stretched out his hand towards Lucy after she had gotten the shoes on. "Ready?" Natsu asked as he raised a brow to Lucy who was still trying to fix her hair. "Ready!"

The two walked down the side walk on the way to the small carnival. Natsus stomach slowly churned at the thought of going on any ride that involved any moving. But, to Natsus luck, Lucy begged that Natsu would ride at least one roller coaster with Lucy. And she used her puppy eyes, one of Natsus weaknesses. Natsu was never able to resist her eyes. Natsu gave in to Lucy's begging and would go on a ride with her. "Yay!" Lucy exclaimed, throwing her hands in the air.

They finally arrived at the carnival. There were screams of people who were riding the coasters and laughter of girls laughing at their boyfriends as they keep losing at the small game stands. Lucy dragged Natsu to the largest coaster in the park. Natsu gulped as he regretted his very decision of giving in to Lucy's puppy eyes.

"HAHAHAH!!!" Lucy laughed aloud as she looked at the photo that was taken on the roller coaster. Natsu hugged a trash can tightly as he hurled. "YOUR FACE IS PRICELESS!" Lucy exclaimed holding her stomach tightly from laughing so hard. Natsu stopped hurling and went and cried in the corner.

"Awe is wittle Natsu sad?" Lucy asked As Natsu pouted at the game stand. He kept losing and all he wanted was to give Lucy a small panda bear. The two had gone to every game stand and a few more rides where Natsu could handle. "Hey Luce, wanna go on the Farris wheel?" Natsu asked Lucy as she was throwing away her trash from a snack she just ate. "Sure!" Lucy said Smiling. The two then walked to the ride.

Natsu and Lucy got into the small carts on the Farris wheel. The wheel then spun slowly upward. Silence filled the air as the two admired the land scape of the city. Natsu glanced over at Lucy as he saw that her eyes were closed as the wind gently blew through her hair. Natsu was mesmerized by her beauty.

Since being night time, the moon shown brightly in the sky, illuminating the farris wheel and the cart the two were in. "Lucy..." Natsu mumbled to himself slowly leaning closer to Lucy. "Yes, Natsu?" Lucy slowly turned her head towards Natsu and smiled, her cheeks slightly pink after realizing how close he was getting. "Your so beautiful you know that?" Natsu said as his lips slightly pierced into a small smile. Lucy's cheeks quickly flushed pink at Natsu's comment. 

"I know this might be sudden but.. I like you Lucy.." Natsu looked off to the side looking down and frowned, probably thinking Lucy was going to turn him down. "I like you too." Natsu quickly looked up at Lucy and saw her smiling as the moon brightly shined on her, making this moment even more memorable. Natsu reached his hand a tucked a loose strand of hair infront of Lucy, behind her ear. Natsu then placed his hand on Lucy's cheek. Lucy grabbed Natsu's wrist as they both leaned in.

There lips connected, closing the large gap in between them, there cart had reached the top of the wheel. The moon shined through creating a silhouette.

But life, had more things in store for them
