A/N: I know its been forever (pratically centuries) since I last posted but its hard being a college student and a writer at the same time. You have those dreadful papers to write, friends that constantly come in and out of your dorm room to steal your beloved chips and dip, and not to mention final exams...ugh. But I did manage to squeeze in a few hours to write a new chapter. Things heat up between Hades and Kore in this chapter so I hope you like it! xD
Chapter 11
"No, no, no," Hades says fervently. His eyes are filled with annoyance and he looks as if he is about to blow the door off its hedges. I don't blame him, I mean we've been going at this for several days now and still I can't even kill a fly.
I just shrug, turning away from him and the dwarf named Hermes. An odd hat lay upon his head with two lightning bolts on either side of it. He came in right before we started training and Hades immediately grabbed him and said I should use him as my target since aiming at inanimate objects wasn't working.
"I'm sorry...Had...Orcus but I'm just not a killer," I tell him, shaking my head. I almost forgot that he does not like his real name to be called in the underworld.
"Perhaps using something less delicate sire," the little man says, looking from me to Hades in fright. He is shaking and if Hades didn't have a firm hand on his shoulder, he probably would have skirted out of the room ages ago.
"Fine, we'll do it another way but you're going to have to practice if you want to stay alive." To the little man he says, "Hermes what news do you have for me today?"
"There's an uproar going on up there and its not pretty."
"Demeter," he murmurs under his breath looking lost in translation for a moment before cutting his eyes back unto me.
"What about my mother?" I ask him.
He looks away from me again before saying, "Nothing that concerns you."
"Orcus I have to know." I beg.
He takes in a deep breath. "Your mother wants you home and she will not stop until she gets her way but she's out of her mind if she thinks she will get it this way."
The dwarf Hermes shoots up at once and says urgently, "Sire you must think rational about this. If you don't do something about this now, things between you and Zeus are only going to get worse."
"Rational went out the window the day that bitch took her from me." Hades says heatedly to Hermes.
"Hey that's my mother you're talking about," I reply sharply.
"Sorry Kore but your mother is crazy if she thinks that she will take you away from me again."
I turn to Hermes, wanting desperately to know what exactly was going on. "What is she doing that is causing an uproar?"
"Well..." Hermes starts but Hades gives him a piercing look that silences him at once.
I give him an icy look in return and he eventually gives in with a sigh. "She plans on taking you away from me but that won't happen because Zeus will not let that happen again." He says angrily.
"What do you mean again?" I ask.
"Have you ever heard of the Ice Age?" Hades asks more as a rhetorical question. He continues on after a while. "I must go but when I return we will talk about preparations for the wedding."
He rushes off and I run after him saying, "Wait, you didn't answer my..." The door shuts deafeningly behind him before I can get the rest out.
"You will have to excuse sire, he has a bit of a temper tantrum."
