Brutality

Unwrap my heart from its velvet silk wrap
Put it in a cage until it dries and chaps
Maybe brutality will make it softer
From all the years of making it colder

Take it, I beg you, and rip it apart
Take a butcher's knife and rip up its parts
Take away this battered useless heart
And let that only be the upstart

Murder it right in front of my eyes
Tear it up in sections and incise
Electrocute it with your vicious tongue
Damage it until it reaches and burns my lung

Brutality will teach it a lesson
Maybe it will finally learn to listen
After this trauma maybe it will discern
And finally decides to be less stubborn

Murder it till my vision becomes airy
Until I can no longer bleed poetry
When my ink stain fingers drips ink no more
Maybe finally, I will stop the uproar
