Authors note:

The reader in this chapter will have different illnesses with each father. The reason why I'm doing this is because infants actually die yearly from these diseases because they didn't get the right medical attention. Shit like Prayer (I am a devout Christian btw) and supposed 'magical' herbs won't save your baby from Swine Flu or Pneumonia. I'm writing this chapter so people can be more aware of the dangers of these illnesses. If your toddler or infant is sick, take them to the doctor as fast as you can because you never know if the illness your child has will kill them.

Reader is 4 to 5 months in this

Percy-Illness: Pneumonia

Percy was honestly scared shitless. He originally thought you were sick with a simple cold but when it started getting worse and when Annabeth found you barely breathing in your crib, he knew to get his ass in gear and take you to the nearest hospital. He didn't know if you were a demigod or a regular mortal so the hospital was his best option. Expensive medical bills be damned. All he and Annabeth cared about was that you would get to live a long healthy life. Currently, Percy was sitting next to your medical crib with his head in his hands and Annbeth leaning into him crying 'Why didn't I take Y/N here before?!' Percy thought, 'I'm such a horrible parent.' He looked up from his hands and started at your pale, shivering, form. Your lips were a light shade of blue and your now dull E/C eyes were closed as you slept. (One of the symptoms for Pneumonia in infants is blue lips and fingertips due to lack of oxygen and warmth production) You were quietly wheezing as you slept and your chest was barely moving. The multiple IVs and wires on your chest didn't help Percy in any way. If anything, he felt more dread looking at your sickly form connected to seemingly endless machines. The only indication Percy got that you were alive was the beeping of the heart monitor and the fog collecting in your oxygen mask every time you exhaled. The only good thing is that you were expected to make a full recovery and you would be able to go home once you were able to breathe properly and your fever was under control. It didn't make Percy feel better though. All he could think about was that he almost lost his only child to an illness.

Jason-Illness: Infant Botulism

Jason had no idea how you got it. You hadn't been around any dirt for the past few months and he never gave you any canned foods. How you got it was a mystery to not only him but to the doctors treating you. He first noticed you becoming constipated regularly, something he didn't really worry about at first. He honestly thought you had caught a bad stomach bug and that some antibiotics would help. Boy was he wrong. If anything, you got MUCH worse. You weren't swallowing correctly, your crying was weak, and what worried Jason the most, you were slowly becoming unresponsive to everything around you. He automatically rushed you to the hospital in New Rome and there the doctors started treating you for the illness the minute you stopped responding to him. Luckily, Infant Botulism is easily treatable and can be gotten rid of within a few days with the right medications. Due to the severity of it, however, it's fatal to infants your age and younger. The only thought running through Jason's head as he watched you play around in your medical cot was that he was smart to bring you when he did. Cause if he had waited an extra day or week, you wouldn't even be alive right now. And Jason wasn't ready to lose you like he lost Piper.

Leo-Illness: Cronobacter or Enterobacter sakazakii, similar to meningitis

Leo really wished he had done his research on the right formula to feed you. Cause right now, you were laying in a hospital crib with lots of IVs running lots of medications Leo didn't even know the name of into you. All he could do is sit there and watch you sleep as you were fighting the bacteria with the help of antibiotics. Leo was pondering on what he could have done to have you avoid this trip altogether. 'I should have noticed she was sick sooner' Leo thought glummily. You had been sleeping a lot more and crying more so than usual. Leo had thought it was some sort of growth spurt and you were crying because you were in so much pain. But nope, instead, you ended up getting sick with one of the deadliest diseases to infants and your baby formula was to blame. The only thing that ticked Leo off that something was wrong was that your neck was incredibly stiff and that you had a seizure as Leo was trying to calm you down. The only good thing was that you were expected to make a full recovery, but it would take a long while until you were able to go home.

Nico-Illness: Swine Flu

Will knew what it was from the get-go and automatically isolated you from the outside world, and Nico, the minute he could. Nico was beyond worry and couldn't help but want to be with you. Nico was unfortunately stopped by Will who said that you needed to be away from people till you were better. Will had luckily had everything he needed to treat you so there was no need to take you to a hospital. But it could have easily been a lot worse if Will hadn't had been there. (Swine flu is fatal to infants under a year old and will kill if not taken care of. I didn't make you hospitalized in this one because a) Will is practically a doctor and b) Nico would probably be hesitant to take you to a hospital due to the fact he's technically in hiding from the U.S government.)
