Chapter 7

The trio left the hospital, and headed home. Milyon didn’t want to go but she promised herself that she would come back later when he might be awake. To see her man so alive was one of the best moments in her life, she’d missed him like shit. No one would understand how she felt; she felt a mixture of joy, excitement, nervousness, and just being plain old happy. She was on a cloud of euphoria right now, she felt complete again. She rubbed her stomach, now even happier about having a baby since her baby was back. She smiled, ready for her man to come home and f*ck shit up.

When Mace got home, he lay in his bed and played his game. He had taken his shirt off, and got comfortable; he had a habit of walking around with no shirt on. Shit, it was his house anyways. He ran his hand over his bullet wound, it was like a keloid. If he did a certain thing a certain way, his whole upper body would begin hurting.

Mace thought of Shy. He wished that he would’ve gotten a chance to explain, he didn’t mean to hurt her. The way that he presented the situation would probably make her think he didn’t care, but he did and that’s why he told her. He knew he messed up, and that’s why he didn’t have sex with Catalina in the first place. He just wanted Shy to know what was up; he really hoped that he hadn’t ruined their chances of being together. She was the only woman that he’d grown interest in, and she was the only woman to ever open up his closed book besides his sister. Shy was everything he needed in a woman, she was classy, but knew how to put her foot down if the time called for it, she was goofy, she wasn’t greedy, she wasn’t needy, she was a business woman, she was willing to ride or die for him, this he knew simply off of what she’s done for him thus far. And most of all, Shy was gorgeous, she was everything he needed, and wanted. He questioned himself on why did he let Catalina manipulate him like a little bitch, yes, he did try and stop her, but it wasn’t good enough.

Mace kicked himself for possibly f*cking up a good thing. Just then, he received a text. He picked up his vibrating phone which lied on the side of him. He looked at who the text was from, it was Shy. Mace was a little surprised that she’d texted him. Mace opened up the text and read it.

Shy: Is it cool if I come down there right quick? I need to talk to you.

Mace replied instantly, smiling to himself. He felt liked he’d earned another chance with this girl.

Mace: yea, come thru

That was all that Mace said. He put his game controller down and waited to receive a knock on his door. Over five minutes later, he heard it. He quickly got up to answer it. He opened it and there stood Shy on the other side.

“What up?” he said while opening the door wider for her to come in.

Shy walked in and past him. “Hey.” She said, dryly.

Mace closed the door behind her, he then reverted his attention back to her. He watched her head to the kitchen, her ass had a way of talking to him as it switched from cheek to cheek in her all black leggings. He wondered to himself why she had on all black; she usually never dressed so down.

“So, what’s up?” he said, following her to the kitchen. He watched as Shy went straight for the refrigerator to grab a bottle of water. She opened it, took a swig, and then twisted the cap back on. She leaned against the kitchen counter.

Shy took a deep breath before speaking. “Look, Mace… I really care about you, and I know that you are not my man but what you told me yesterday, really f*cked me up. Now, you got me questioning the person you are…” Shy began talking, her voice trailed off.
