Chapter 12

Phase one. “Papá, me voy a casa. No debería haber desobedecido sus órdenes. Ahora me doy cuenta de que usted sabe lo que es mejor para mí, y yo no debería discutir con usted.” Catalina said into the phone. Daddy, I'm coming home. I shouldn't have disobeyed your orders. I realize now that you know what's best for me, and I shouldn't argue with you.  She tried sounding as sincere as possible. But her father adored her so much that he could see her doing no wrong. Boy, was he wrong.

Camillo was glad to hear the news. “Buena chica, voy a tener un jet privado enviado a usted dentro de la siguiente hora.” Camillo stated, delightedly. Good girl, I will have a private jet sent to you within in the next hour.

“Está bien, voy a estar esperando. Ah, y papá, ¿qué pasa con Mace? ¿Dónde lo han ellos lo llevara?” Catalina already knew the answer but she wanted to hear his response. Okay, I'll be waiting. Oh, and daddy, what about Mace? Where'd you have them take him?

Camillo chuckled. “Cariño, ya no tienen que preocuparse de él. Él está en buenas manos aquí en Colombia, y que va a conseguir lo que se merece. Nadie va a faltarle el respeto a mi familia y salir con la suya. No, no, no.” he said. Sweetheart, you no longer have to worry of him. He is in safe hands here in Colombia, and he'll get what he deserves. No one will disrespect my family and get away with it. No, no, no. Confirmed. Catalina laughed to herself; she didn’t think that her father would be so stupid as to tell her where Mace was located. He’d only made her plan that much easier.

Carti sat listening to the conversation, nodding his head in approval of her work. Carti had taken Spanish in high school, and could understand most of it when he heard it, and he could also write in Spanish. He just never got the hang of actually speaking the language. He was still skeptical about her but he would do anything to get his boy back, injured and all.

Catalina smirked at him and then got back into character quickly. “Papá, sólo quiero verlo muerto ... eso es todo. No puedo esperar para volver a casa. ¿Y sus amigos?” She said, playing the victim role. Daddy, I just want him dead... that's all. I can't wait to come back home. What about his friends?

“Sirven ninguna amenaza para mí ... sólo para sí mismos. Mis hombres están buscando el país para ellos. Ellos se encontrarán pronto, muy pronto. Pero muy pronto, mi amor. Pedro le llamará con la información de a qué hora va a llegar el avión, y voy a verte pronto, ¿no?” Camillo said. They serve no threat to me... only to themselves. My men are searching the country for them. They will be found soon, very soon. But soon enough, my love. Pedro will call you with the information on what time the jet will arrive, and I will see you soon, yes?

Catalina nodded. “Sí, papá. Te quiero.” She said. Yes, daddy. I love you. They then ended the call.

“Done.” Catalina stated simply. She tossed the prepaid cellphone onto the bed.

Carti stood up from his seat on the uncomfortable motel bed. They had gone from staying at the Holiday Inn to a room at a nearby Motel 6 in a matter of hours. Carti was paranoid and didn’t need to be on the Colombians radar in order to execute the plan securely and successfully. “Good lookin’, ma. But this shit is far from over. Now, you need to go back to the Holiday Inn. If you have your father send the jet here, his men will be swarming around this building, putting my family and me in an uncomfortable and compromising position. Understood?” he asked, standing almost face to face with her besides their height difference.
