your heart sinks, a lazy descent into dark caverns. you know you shouldn't feel like this. it's nothing, you assure yourself. it's something, you think in secret, sometime later. your guilty eyes stay downcast.

you try and move on. it's forgotten, right? jokes are cracked and it seems as though you're going to make it through. they chatter and plot. while you play pretend, your heart sinks lower.

the day comes. you are alone and very aware of it. the radio silence is deafening, choking, blinding. where is your heart? where is your heart?
