Chapter 13- Let's go

Ayana's POV

Hmmm...

"You know what.." I said. I think I will sign up. How much are the classes?"

"They're free!" said Skai.

I'M THERE. "Wow, when do they start?" I asked.

She reached in her bag to get her phone. She glanced at it. "It starts today actually! At 5:30." she said.

"Well what time is it now?"

"4:14." she said.

"Ok, um.." I was trying to figure out how I was going to walk all the way home and take the bus to that class and get there in time.

 "I have to walk home first and change then I'll need to wait for the bus, sooo, I may not get there in time." I explained.

She laughed. "You can just ride with me and I'll take you Ayana."

"YOU HAVE A CAR?!" I asked suprised. 

"Yeah! Come on let's go." she said, grabbing her stuff and mine.

We walked out to her car. (second picture above ^^) I was pretty nice. Not too fancy, but not scrappy. She put our bookbags in the backseat, got in the driver's seat, and started the car.

"What's your address?" she asked as we backed out of the parking space.

"2378 East Jade Av." I said.

She put it into her phone gps and started the navigation. 

"In 100 feet, turn left onto Clarke road." it said in a robotic voice.

"I always use this cause I don't really know my way around, but her voice is hella annoying!" she exclaimed. 

I laughed. "You're right about that!"

 I takes me about 30 minutes to walk but  we drove for about 10 minutes. We talked the whole time about school, people at school, and Devonte. 

"JI said he talks about you all the time." she told me.

"Really?" I asked.

She giggled. "He really likes you, it's so cute."

I smiled.

"And you both have dimples too!" she said.

We do don't we? His are cuter though.

"That's true." I said.  "Hey, do you know how long Peachez and Roc have been together?" 

She looked confused for a second. "Peaches and R- OHHH, Shadiyah and Chresanto?" 

I laughed. "Yeah them."

"2 years. They met when Chresanto transferred to our school for his Sophomore year.. She was still a Freshman at the time. They caught eachother's eye the first day. He hit it off with the guys after a week. All Shadiyah would talk about in how fine he was. One day after three months we were all at Deetanada and Keon's house in their living room talking and playing games. Chresanto and Shadiyah were roasting eachother. The rest of us went into the kitchen to get snacks and when we came back... those two were making out. Ever since then, they've been a couple." she said.

"Wow, what a story. It seems like all of y'all have been close friends for a while." I said.

"Yeahh, I've know Dee, Keon, and Shadiyah since Elementry. And I've known Yara since Preschool. We all have our problems and drama but we always make up." 

We pulled up at my house. "You have arrived at your destination." said the GPS. 

Skai unlocked the doors. "You go ahead, I'll be out here in the car. JI's calling me." she said.

"JI?" I asked.

She answered her phone. "Heyy." she said with a smile on her face. "Oh you're at your braces appointment right now?"

I chuckled to myself and got out. When I unlocked and walked through the door, loud brazillian music was playing (song at the top, 0:50 ^^), the house smelled like beans and rice and Grandma was at the stove cooking in pajamas. She moved pot and pans and hit the side of a pot with a metal spoon to get the food off.

CLANG!

BANG! 

CLANG!! CLANG!!!

"Avo?" I said. She didn't turn around, she couldn't hear me over the music.

"Avo!" she still didn't hear me.

"AVO!!" I yelled. She turned around quickly and took the remote out of her robe pocket.

"OH, you beck." she said turning down the music volume.

"Your speaking English." I said.

"I hev to pretice." she said.

"The more you practice, the better you'll get." 

"Dat's tru, who's car is dat ouside?" she asked, pointed out the kitchen window.

"Oh that's my friend Skai, she took me home."

"Thad wos nice of her."

"Can I go to with her to her karate class?" I asked her.

"Yeh you cen go, what time are you coming back?"

"8 oclock." I said.

"Okey."

I thanked her and went upstairs to my room. I looked through my drawers and pulled out some gray sweats and a white tank top.  "This should be okay." I said. I changed and then put all my hair into a ponytail. It still hung to my waist. I didn't want it in my way so wrapped it in a bun. I grabbed my water bottle from the fridge.

"Bye Avo!" I said.

"Bye!"

When I went back out to the car, I got in and Skai was still on the phone with JI.

She laughed hysterically. "HAHAHAHAAHAAHHA!!!" she saw me out of the corner of her eye. "Hey, I gotta go but I'll talk to you later okay?...Okay bye." she hung up. "You ready?"

"Yep!" I said. "Is this outfit good?"

"Yeah that's perfect, as long as you're comfortable." she said.

I am." I said

"Good." she said. We started driving. 

The gps starting talking again. "MAKE A U-TURN ON--" she turned it off.

"Don't need you no more lady!" 

We both laughed.
