The 4 Tails: The Legend

Carina p.o.v

I wake up to the sound of one direction playing story of my life on my alarm clock. I shut it off and get out of bed. I go into the bathroom and brush my auburn hair and teeth. Once I'm done I put my slippers on and head downstairs. My dad is already there making breakfast. I guess mom must be asleep.

"Morning sweetheart" he says when he sees me. "Morning" I say back. I grab some pancake mix and start making it on the stove since it's not out anywhere in the kitchen. 

"What are your plans for today?" Since it's summer my dad lets me do whatever I want. "I was going to hang out with Julia."

"Okay want me to drop you off?" "Sure" Once I finish the pancakes I eat them and go change into a lime green t-shirt that says yolo and white jean shorts. I also grab my heart necklace. It's basically a magenta heart a mermaid in the top parts of the heart. Julia has on similiar to mine but purple (We both got one at a swim store yesterday). I also grab my swimsuit as well.

"Ready!" I yell.

Once the car starts up we pass all the palm trees and such. Did I mention we live in Florida?

We get to Julia's house and I say goodbye to my dad. The door is already open when I get there. "Hey Julie" I get replied with a hi. We just sit and watch tv until I decide we go to the beach. We both agree and get changed. Julia tells her parents where we're going.

When we got to the beach I put my stuff down. I waited for Julie because I had something cool to show her. So cool isn't the best word it's more like amazing and unbelievable. Once Julia gets settled I ask her to follow me to a spot that no one really goes to.

"Okay Carina what is it that you want to show me?"

I look aroun a inute then jump in the water and wait for my tail to grow. After like ten seconds I feel it behind me and show Julia.

"Whoa how did that happen?" Julia asks after a while. 

"I don't know I just found out yesterday when I was in the bath."

"Let me get in with you so we can swim together."

I wait for her to get in once she does her legs start to stick together. "What's happening?" Right after she asks that she plops down on her tail. WAIT TAIL!?

"Is that what I think it is?" I ask 

"If you think it's a tail then you're right."

"But how?"

We both think a minute before it comes to my mind that they came right after we got our necklaces.

"The Necklaces!" I shout as soon as I said it Julie's face started to show understanding.

"Of course."

"Well since we both have tails should we go out for a swim?" I ask

"Sure"

Iris p.o.v

Hi I'm Iris so let's get some basics down my best friend is Jamelia, I'm a mermaid, and I live a bit away from the coast of Miami.

I'm trying to catch up to Jamelia to find out what's bothering her. I finally catch up and see that's she is crying.

"What's wrong?" I ask as I hug her.

"Kevin" She sobs. Kevin is her boyfriend for about a month.

"What about him?" I ask 

"I was swimming just minding my own business when I saw him kissing another girl." She took a breath "Once he was done I went up, slapped him in the face, called him a jerk, and broke up with him."

"Poor you" I say. I think of something that I know will cheer her up.

"Hey how about we go on land and go through the mall?" I ask

She brightens up a bit "Alright"

You're probably wondering how can two mermaids go up on land and into a mall? Well you see when we go on land our tails disappear. It's been like that since birth but the thing is no other mermaid can do that.

Once we get on land we took a minute to dry off and headed towards the mall.

"This always clears my mind" Jamelia states

We were walking through the sand till Ryan, our friend, comes up to us. He knows about our secret and is our only human friend.

"Hey girls I didn't think I'd see you today" When he said that he was looking at me I felt my cheeks blush. 

I'm pretty sure in the corner of my eye I saw Jamelia smirk. She thinks that we'll be, as she calls it, the cutest couple ever.

"Yeah well we needed to clear our minds and relax" I say. Soon the mall was in view.

"Wait you're going to the mall what happened?" Ryan asks. He seems to know us all to well.

We tell him everything and it looks like he's going to punch something. He likes to protect us both and Jamelia sees him as her older brother.

I see Jamelia use her gift to calm him down a bit. Oh I forgot to mention that all mermaids get a special gift. Mine is to control nature and Jamelia's is to control emotions.

After Ryan seems calm enough we continue our trek to the mall.

What do you think 

Also the book will be  alternating like one chapter is the girls on land then the next is the mermaids you know but when they meet I will have it the same way for this book 

For instances one chapter would be Carina and then the next is Iris

Also what do you think of Kevin you will possibly learn more about him in the next two chapters
