This takes place about a week after the meeting that happened in the last chapter. The story line with the war is coming but some pieces need to fall into place in the story first. So it will probably take a couple a chapters to come back into play.

Superman's pov:
I frowned as I looked at the news. Gotham's vigilantes have been tearing things up. Batman claims that he has no contact with them but no one believes him. They have been seen with him before. When we question him he just says that they show up and help then leave. Again no one believes him. I called a Justice League meeting after seeing this news. They nearly blew up a warehouse then were see laughing afterwards. Whether Bruce had contact or not he needed to stop them. Batman's name was announced and seconds later he was by my side. I only knew because he placed a hand on my shoulder. I was surprised. He normally doesn't do that kind of thing in public. People could get suspicious. I wheeled around and discovered why he did that. His suit was ripped and I could tell he wasn't in good shape.

"Batman! What the hell happened to you?!" I rapped my arm around his waist and he put his weight on me.

"Long story" he didn't make any attempt to move forward "What was so important?"

I helped him walk to the doors for the meeting. He didn't push me away when we entered the room either. That meant he was really in pain. I helped him to his seat.

"What the hell Batman? You look terrible!" Flash looked at him with concern.

"Complicated. What is the meeting about?" He sat back in him chair waiting for someone to explain.

"The vigilantes in Gotham. That warehouse they almost blew up. Laughing afterwards. They are causing concern." Wonder Woman said eyeing Batman.

Batman sighed and waiting a moment before responding. "The warehouse explosion was planned by Joker. The others helped me stop it. The media doesn't like them so when they caught wind of the bomb they blamed them. They weren't laughing. That photo they showed was a fake. They didn't stay long enough for the media arrive. A police officer told them that they were there and the media ran with it. Can I leave now? If it wasn't obvious I need to return to the Batcave for medical attention. Superman a hand?" Batman finished as he slowly got up.

I rushed to his side and grabbed him right before he fell over.

"To answer your question; no. This meeting is not done!" Wonder Woman snapped

Batman pulled his famous batglare which was still just as scary even though he was being supported by me and looked like he was about to pass out. "Let me rephrase: this meeting is over." He began to move to the door to leave. I helped him but Wonder Woman still seemed angry. Batman didn't care.

We made it to the Batcave and he took off his cowl. I helped him pull off his suit. Alfred flew down the stairs and started to patch Bruce up. I stayed and did everything Alfred needed help with. The entire time Alfred was mumbling things about how reckless Bruce had been. Bruce never responded but gave me his signature 'I'm a badboy' smirk showing he didn't care what Alfred was saying. It made me feel better that we was able to have a sense of humor. Alfred finished and took the Batsuit to the back room before returning to the manor.

The back room had the Batsuit in it. Bruce always said he kept it back there for security reasons. I told him that no one was ever gonna stumble across this place and even if they did hiding the suit would not stop them from finding out what was happening down here. He always just repeated security reasons. I stopped asking. It wasn't worth it.

I looked around the Batcave before sitting on the bed next to Bruce. "It still amazes me that your kids are apart of this life"

He leaned over and rested his head on my shoulder and laughed. "What was I supposed to do? You know how smart they are. They would have figured it out anyway. Plus I would have run out of excuses for all the injuries"

He had a point. We stayed on the bed for awhile. Some time passed before the triplets made their way down to us. Bruce didn't make any attempt to hide the fact that he was practically sitting in my lap. The triplets didn't seem surprised. I doesn't surprise me that they know either. Bruce and I had started dating about a year ago. Around that time the kids stopped calling me 'uncle Clark'. It was about a week after the Gotham Academy fundraiser were the kids started things with Tony Stark that they began to refer to me as the newest Wayne in a mocking tone. I never asked Bruce but I don't think he told them. They are just too smart.

The triplets walked over to us. The boys helped Bruce up to his room. I was gonna go help them or just follow them up but Barbara stopped me. She waited until the boys had Bruce out of the cave before she spoke.

"Hello Clark," her eyes watched me carefully "how are you today?"

I tried act normal but it wasn't working too well. I could tell she had noticed and was greatly enjoying me failing. "I'm okay, how about yourself?"

She grinned and walked away. She got to the top of the stairs before entering the elevator and then turned to me "I trust you are aware of where my father's room is. We're having pancakes for breakfast tomorrow." Then she slipped inside.

Terrific. That wasn't an invitation to breakfast that was a 'come to breakfast or I'm gonna hurt you'. Absolutely terrific. And Bruce wonders why his kids scare me.

"Don't forget to smile"
