Legolas walked around Laketown. His dark green hood still upon his head. The Elf's long, blonde hair tucked inside. The air was cold, making his breath slightly visible to his eyes. He walked along the wooden dock path through the town standing in the middle of the lake and was surprised by what he saw.

The whole town itself was run down and full of a gloom that hanged in the air. Making it seem dark and cold. And the people living there seemed nervous and on edge as if someone was watching their every move, discerning whether they live to the next day. This saddened the Elf Prince and he walked around a while longer so as to see if he could find the source of the problem to help the people. The source of the problem was of course the town's headmaster, but Legolas did not know this so he marched on.

Out of the corner of his eye he saw a scraggly figure watching him. Slinking in the shadows, along the edge of the poorly built houses. Our hero looked curiously in that direction, puzzled by what ever or whom ever it was. He shrugged his shoulders and continued his way.

A little while later the same figure stepped out quickly in front of him. It was a man, with scraggly black hair, and wore clothes of the same color. The distrustful looking man crossed his arms, blocking Legolas' path. "Who are you and who gave you permission to enter Laketown?" He asks, raising his eyebrow at the Elf in front of him, though not knowing who he was.

Legolas slightly rolled his eyes at the man's rudeness. "I am Leif the Green, and I was giving permission to enter this town." The man in front of him scoffed lightly. "By whom?" He questioned. "Your guard at the pass." Legolas said to him. "Well, all travelers must see the master for permission and inspection upon entering." "You're kidding me." Legolas muttered under his breath. "Very well, take me to him." And so the man roughly takes him to see the master of the town.

"Master, this stranger was wandering the town without your permission . " The man says, obviously lying but the man who they call the master doesn't really care. "Good work Alfrid, thank you." The master says with false praise as he eyes Legolas suspiciously. The man named Alfrid bows his head slightly in hopes of earning future praise from the master and backs away a little. "Who are you?" The master asks Legolas. "And where did you come from."

Legolas sighs and answers the question for the third time that day, giving the same answer. "My name is Leif the Green, where I come from is my own business. I go and leave where I please. "

The last bit of course angered the master and he gives Legolas a cold, angry glare. "No one leaves or enters Laketown except by leave of the master." Alfrid says. "Take him away, get this man out of my sight." The master says to Alfrid. Anger still lingering in his voice. And thus Alfrid takes Legolas roughly by the arm and drags him away.
