Hey guys,

I had to take a break from this book for a while. For those who are still reading, thank you, I'm sorry, and I love you! Thanks for all the comments, especially on the last few chapters, I think that really got me back on track, so thank you again.

Okay, enough sappy talk. Back to the story!

There's something extra special about a boy that surprises you with dates, Jessica decided. One who plans something out instead of just picking you up and asking what you want to do is one to keep.

Jessica decided this as she slipped on the new red silk dress she had purchased just that afternoon for the occasion, when Will had sent her a scrawled note asking if she would accompany him to the grand opening of some fancy restaurant out of town tonight. Of course, she happily accepted.

They had been dating steadily for around four months by this point. He had never surprise her with dates like this, and she was enjoying the preparation to the max.

However, in the recesses of her mind, she couldn't help but compare Will to Teddy. This was Will's first time surprising her like this, whereas with Teddy, it had been on a regular basis that he surprised her with something new.

She halted that thought as she pulled her black tights up her legs, huffing impatiently at herself for thinking this. Will didn't cheat on her. Will didn't blame her for it, either. Teddy had, and she hated him for it.

Didn't she? She was over him, right? She wondered as she slipped into her heels. Oh, whatever, she scolded herself as she looked herself over in the mirror. He's old news. She had a guy coming to pick her up any second.

In fact, there was the "pop!" from his Apperating inside the house. She frowned as she heard him and her parents strike up conversation downstairs. Will never Apperated inside the house. He said it was because he didn't want to intrude, no matter how many times she told him he was by no means an intruder in their house.

He must be finally getting the picture, she guessed.

Gosh, first planning a date, then Apperating inside the house. What was next for Will?

With one last glance in the mirror, Jessica smiled to herself, grabbed her purse, and headed to the stairs.  She could hear Will’s laugh ring through the house.

She knew she looked exceptional in the new dress; she had felt exceptional when she had first tried it on in the store.  But she hadn’t really expected Will to be phased by it.  He was used to beautiful girls; before the two of them had started dating, beautiful girls had been Will’s favorite pass time.

But as soon as she began her descent down the stairs, his eyes found hers and his laughter died in his throat.  She saw his eyes widen as she drew closer, and she couldn’t help but smile and study him as well.  He was in a neatly-trimmed suit, with the coat buttoned and a simple black bowtie around his neck.  He had one hand in his pocket and the other held a bouquet of blue lilacs.  She could tell his hand was shaking, and she smiled at the fact that he, Will King, was nervous about seeing her.

“Blue lilacs,” she said when she reached him.  She reached out a hand and fingered the petals lightly.  Her mind flashed back to her first year at Hogwarts, when Teddy had surprised her with the blue lilacs around the mantel in the common room.  She quickly shook her head from the memories and forced a smile at Will.

“Yeah, they’re your favorite,” he said, then looked horrified.  “Unless you have a new favorite now and I didn’t know.  I’m sorry, I should have gotten something more generic.  I just remembered how much you liked them in school and –“
