'Finally!' Ron thought as he waited at the archway that was the alter for the wedding.
He was in his tux, as was George, Bill, Charlie, and Harry beside him. The preacher was standing slightly behind him on his other side, directly under the archway, which had different flowers weaved through and around it. On the other side - leaving a space directly beside Ron for Hermione to stand - was Angelina, Fluer, and Ginny.
The long white carpet, that had seats filled with relatives and friends on both sides, had pink and red rose petals dropped all around it thanks to Jessica Harper, who was the little flower girl. She had walked down the aisle, dropping the rose petals on either side, with Teddy right behind her, holding the rings. Ron and Hermione had both wanted them in the wedding, and that seemed the best way to put them in.
Ron and Hermione had decided on having the wedding at a park near Hermione's house, and the dogwood trees all around them were blooming. Looking up the aisle, waiting for his bride, Ron couldn't help but marvel at the beauty of it all as the small breeze blew the trees lightly.
After what felt like an eternity of waiting, Hermione appeared at the other end of the aisle, her arm linked with her father's.
Ron took in the sight of his bride. She had on a strapless dress that showed her amazing figure, then flowed from her waist down. The whole dress was laced with flower designs all around it. It also trailed behind her a little. She was barefoot and her hair was in an elegant (but not over-the-top) bun with only a couple of curled strands hanging around her face. In her hair was a headband with a veil that covered her face.
Hermione looked at Ron and only Ron as she walked down the aisle, happiness in her heart. He was so handsome and he was all hers at last!
When she approached the alter, the preacher asked, "Who gives this bride away?"
"I do," her father said, trying to keep from crying. He turned to Hermione and lifted her veil to kiss her cheek. He gave her a hug before lowering her veil once more and taking his seat next to Mrs. Granger, who was crying quietly into her handkercheif.
Before she took her place beside Ron in front of the preacher, Hermione walked over to her mom and pulled her onto her feet to give her a hug. Mrs. Granger's silent tears slowly became loud sobs as she held her daughter in her arms.
"I love you, Mum," Hermione whispered into her mother's ear, surprisingly still not crying, even though half the guests were already in tears.
Mrs. Granger pulled away from her and held her bare shoulders at arm's length. "I love you too, baby girl."
Hermione gave her mother one last white smile before joining Ron at the alter. He took her hands in his and they stood as close as possible, gazing into each other's eyes lovingly.
He traced small circles on the back of her hands with his thumbs as the ceremony was going on around them. He felt like he was in his own little world with only Hermione there with him. It was just him and her, for all eternity....
He was snapped out of his thoughts when the preacher said, "Where is the ring bearer with the rings?"
"Um," a female voice said hesitantly, and everyone's eyes landed on the young woman who was speaking. She stood and Charlie barely kept in his gasp.
It was Alissa!
"Little man passed out over here," she said with a small laugh, joined by everyone else when they saw Teddy asleep in Andromeda's arms beside her. "But the rings are right here," she said, holding up the two golden wedding bands. She walked from her seat up to the preacher to hand them to him.
