Chapter Five

When we reach my parents office they motioned for us to sit in the chairs. We stay silent for a little before I speak. "I really don't know how to say this but....Mom, Dad Harley is my mate." I blurt out waiting for something to happen. They just look at each other - they do that a lot - and smile.

"Honey we are so happy for you!" Squeals my mom. Dad walks over to Harley and shakes his hand and Mom rushes over and gives him a bone crushing hug.

"Thanks I didn't know what you guys where going to do so I was a little scared." Harley walks up behind me and wraps his arms around my waist. I give him a smile and see my parents look at each other again. What's up with parents doing that? We talk for a few minutes then me and Harley walk out into the forest to be alone for a while. He drapes his arm around my shoulder when we get deep into the forest and steers me over to the river I hid in. He sits me on a rock and stands a little ways away from me.

"I want to show you my extra talent that no one else knows." He motions me to close my eyes and I follow because I really want to know. There is some rustling and a splash and other noises for a minute or two before he speaks.

"You can open your eyes and try to find me." I open my eyes but find nothing to show me where he went or see him. his voice was so close I should be able to see him but I can't -it frustrates me!

"Alright Harley, show yourself."

"Look in front of you very closely. Then you'll find me" I look in front of me and I hear him shift and see leaves move.

"Invisibility.... that is so cool!"

"Well not only invisibility but camouflage I can change my appearance to make me invisible to the anyone and I'm trying to get it to cover more than one person." He suddenly appears in front of me and I hug him.

"Well that is still cool thanks for showing me." We break off our hug and my stomach growls. We burst out laughing and I fall on my butt. When we finally stop he pulls me up.

"Well I guess your wolf still wants meat."

"Nope it's lunch time and I'm hungry." We head back to the school and we pass a group of vampires. Harley just growls but doesn't try to attack them. We all pass without saying a word to each other. "Okay tell me the back story on you two."

"Well there really isn't a story with us but with our ancestors." We sit on a rock outside the doors. "His great grandfather killed my great times six aunt with her unborn child. My great uncle was furious.

After the day of the funeral he decided to hit him hard. To kill his wife like he did his. It was horrible. Every vampire official was banned from the werewolf bars and inns. Same for the werewolves. He did kill her though not before she gave birth to a girl. She still rules today and she has given her father the strong royal line he ever wanted. They stooped the war with a truce but our kinds still don't get along. That's why me and Jorden are how we are."

"I'm so sorry Harley. How about we go inside before people start to look for you. We head into the school and go to get our schedules. Once there the teacher who hands out the schedules spots us. She tells us to wait for them to give us ours when they are done remaking them. We sit on the back wall for about thirty minutes before they give us them. I have the usual subjects and my electives are archery, wood shop - yes -, and music. I look at Harley's and see that we have an almost exact schedule as each other. Only difference is he has football instead of archery.

"What a surprise. My parents gave us the exact same schedule I wonder why." I say smiling. he smiles back and we go off to our first period which is Language Arts.
