Chapter 9 - Apologies
John smiled as he looked through the pictures he captured earlier. He had recently walked throught the Northwest region of the island and he had captured a lot of pictures of the remaining survivors and some of his dead classmates. Every flash had a certain feeling of wonder and excitement. John didn't fear death but he feared dying ugly and alone.
He was certain he had kicked and smacked Sheena's face more than fifty times and he made sure that nobody found and if anyone would find her corpse, they wouldn't even recognize a single spot. John was happy to know that his plan worked well but he knew that he needed something to protect him.

He didn't even felt sorry that he just killed his very own classmate, he just felt sorry that he found her early. John was at a branch of a topmost tree and is waiting for the sun to rise. The cool breeze had been whispering to him, 'Get down already.' But his feet wont move. 'Hey you! Up there!' A girl's voice can be heard even from above. John looked down, to his surprise, his classmate Maan was there. 'Hey! John! Are you okay up there?' She asked.
'I'm perfectly fine.' He answered. 'Well, what are you waiting for? Get down.' She replied. John had no choice but to get down to protect his cover. He was planning murder again but this time, quicker. 'So... How's your first night?' Maan asked with a curious tone.
'Not Good.' John was lying. 'Me either.' Maan looked at his bag. 'Wanna team?' She asked. 'It's dangerous out there you know, some are taking this game too seriously.' She added. 'Yeah... Okay, sure. What's your weapon?' 'A shotgun...' 'Wow! I have...' John searched through his bag. 'A camera.' he added and showed the cam to the girl.
'Can I look?' Maan asked. 'No!' John said in a very loud tone. 'Okay... I see.... I'm sorry... I'll be going then.' She said and waved her hand and walked away. Maan could feel that John Mark was into no good and is hiding something dark.
What was John hiding from her? Was it about the camera? Her weapon? Is he like Jeremy who just killed a friend to survive? Or is he like her who kill for revenge?
She had a lot of questions but there were no answers.
She had to do something about this, she needed answers. Then, she suddenly had an idea. Maan will stalk him and if he falls asleep or leaves his bag, she must get the camera and bring it back after looking through its pictures.

John knew that there was something about Maan, that she was suspecting more and more of him. He should better be careful, more careful than before. His camera or Sheena's poison may result him into death. He must get rid of both. He stopped and rested at a tree, not too far from where he and Maan met. John held the water bottle and put the poison in. The water turned a little darker but it seemed fine. He hid the poison bottle behind a bush and then he went off.
Maan, who was following him, was confused why did he had a poison bottle since he already had a camera as a weapon. Maybe he just brought it, today was their field trip after all. They continued to walk and walk and headed for north.
At last, it was the end of the forest, the trees were the borders and the valley was a new land. She couldn't follow him anymore, she would be seen if she did. But she needed her answers from her wondering wild questions. Maan could not take it no more and she had appeared right before the guy and said, 'STOP RIGHT THERE JOHN! I KNOW YOU'RE HIDING SECRETS FROM ME! GIVE ME YOUR CAMERA OR I'LL SHOOT YOU RIGHT ON THE SPOT!' She shouted at him.
John looked around and was not surprised that Maan was behind him. He was expecting this that is why he had made Maan follow him to the valleys. 'Chill... Maan... Uh... Here..' He held the camera tight that Maan have to grab it as hard as a rock before she got it. Maan opened the camera and nothing seemed wrong. The pictures were all about scenery, some pictures showed some classmates on a treehouse but the picture was too blurg to even recognize the person.

'Sheena?'
'What? Who?' John asked her. 'You... were there...' She whispered. 'Where was Sheena killed? ANSWER ME!' She added and loudened her voice. 'I don't know... I...' He couldn't answer directly, his face pale as snow. 'I j-just saw her corpse passing by...'
'LIAR!!!'
'I'm telling you the truth! I didn't kill her!'
'Huh?' Maan's eyes widened as she heard those few words.
I'm telling you the truth! I didn't kill her!
'Lower the gun now, Maan. We can't let anyone die now, specially now.'
Maan lowered her gun but she wasn't still sure. Think Maan! Think! That was all her brain was telling her to do. Maan pulled the trigger and it had hit the boy who was standing right in front of her. ;Why did you...?' He asked. 'I wasn't asking if you killed her... I was asking where was Sheena killed.' She said.
'Sorry, Maan.... Sorry.... I... I'm sorry...'
'Sorries can't bring the dead back to life.'
*update*
#1 John Mark ((dead)) 17 to go
'Sheena...' Maan looked at the picture on the screen. Sheena was covered in all shades of red. Although she doesn't seem to recognize her face due to the pressure that was put onto her by John back when she was killed, she noticed that Sheena was frowning.
A frown that seek revenge, like the tears in Sarah's eyes when she parted away.
From that time on, she promised herself that she'll kill anybody who will kill and play dirty in the game. She will bring vengeance to anyone, to everyone who died.
She will be the flower of hope that blooms in the darkness of blood and war.
She opened and checked John's bag before she left the valley, as she expected it, everything inside was the same. She transfered everything to her bag except for the water bottle. She opened the camera one last time and took a picture of John before she left.
