~Bertholdt's POV~
Sh-she wanted me to stay. She's much prettier up close. I think I've seen her in a few classes of mine? I know I've seen her around for sure, her red scarf always sticks out everywhere. I'm pretty certain we've had Titan History 101 together.
Mikasa. It's a pretty name, quite unique actually, is she Japanese? That'd be really cool, all my friends have always wanted to go there but never actually put the effort into learning the language or culture without looking like massive weeaboos.
Everyone was standing by the window panes, watching the storm rage on before their dorm leader told them to stay away from the windows. Two maintenance workers stared to put cardboard and duct tape on them, in case they broke. Odd, I thought the school would have enough funds to buy strong fibre glass ...
Mikasa made me a nice cup of hot chocolate, quickly rejuvenating my hands back to a pricking warmth, as the hot chocolate shot it's warmth through my frozen hands. My hands got even redder from this.
It was so sweet, just the perfect balance.
After shuffling by the quiet and worried crowd in the lobby, Mikasa had me wait out by a room, full of blankets and supplies I'm assuming as she carried out the fluffiest bright yellow blankets I've ever seen before. That, and some snacks. I offered to carry them and she let me. But, we weren't going back to the lobby after that?
"So. Here's my dorm. It's pretty quaint and my roommate, Annie, she's not a people person but at least we're on the same page about cleanliness and rules."
It smelled like home cooked food and light perfume. I looked around, nervous to be in someone's personal space, especially somewhere considered to be their bedroom. So, I just stood there, quietly, not knowing what to do. Someone opened the door behind me, a blonde girl in a grey hoodie.
I stiffened up as her blue eyes widened, staring at me."Who are you?" she asked, scared of a stranger yet ready to kick my ass.
She reached for something in her pocket and before she could I blurted "I'M WITH MIKASA—A FRIEND!"
She hesitated, and then her shoulders rested, but mine weren't—what is she going to do?
She looked down, shaking her head and sighing out in a frustrated manner.
"Geez, what the fuck." She mumbled.
I'm assuming this is her roommate, Annie.
She looked back up, walking past me and headed in the kitchen where Mikasa was.
I tensed down, but still nervous about what was going to happen now.
I peered over and saw Annie yank Mikasa's headphones off: Mikasa appeared to be making some food.
"What the fuck man. There's some tall guy of a mountain in our room and you couldn't give me a heads up!? You already know how I feel about that kind of stuff."
'Stuff?' I asked myself.
Mikasa seemed to be really calm. "Sorry. Well as you probably know, he's a new friend. Saved me from the storm outside." She gently took her headphones back from Annie, ignoring Annie's despair. "He's staying until the storm is done. In the meantime, I'm warming up some steamed red buns...want some?"
Annie, not getting the reaction she wanted from Mikasa just stood there, staring at her. Eventually she left her alone, shoving her hoodie on even more, and leaving. She stopped, giving me a death glare on her way out. Yikes.
Putting red buns in a pot of boiling water, Mikasa looked over at me. I stiffened up again.
Her beautiful grey eyes, making me the most nervous man alive.
"If you're wondering what that was about, again: she's not a people person."
She started to walk towards me. I was still holding the snacks and blankets. She took the snacks and placed them on the counter, then coming back to me.
She took the blanket.
"I'm still soaked. If you want, I have a change of clothes ... although I'm not sure if I have something that would fit for pants ..."
She took my side bag off and wrapped the blanket around me, leaving to her bedroom. I sat on their soft couch, staring at the blank television in front of me. Mikasa came back, with a grey top and some sweat pants.
"I hope they fit, I usually have some bigger clothes for comfort..."
There was some awkward silence for a bit. And I was just staring at her.
"Well...are you going to take it?" she said, breaking the silence.
"U-Uh-I—y-yeah-s-sorry!" I stammered out, caught off guard and reddening from embarrassment.
I took the clothes and she already knew what I was going to ask before I could spit my question out.
"Outside, down the hall on the door to the right. I'd let you use our bathroom rather than the Hall's but ... I need to shower...okay?"
I nodded quickly, wide-eyed.
"Also, you can leave anything else here ... you bag or shoes."
I nodded, quietly heading out.
Their room was so silent, so once I left their dorm, I heard the raging storm thundering on from outside. Maybe it was a good idea I came with her instead of heading back to my dorm on my own, who knows what could have happened.
