The first thing the next morning I went to the only person I knew to run to: My Mom.
I told her about yesterdays events and asked her what she thought I should do.
" I saw a book one day at the book store and thought I should get it. Who knew it would actually come in handy." I followed Ma to her library. The walls were now a bright yellow. Ma never kept the same color for more than a few years.
" Here." She said. She handed me a white book with the title spelled out in black words across the top: " When Things go wrong...". It was a book about a Guardian who was going through weird things with his human.
" You take this. I think it will help. Also, go talk to an Arch Angel. They'll know what to do." I took Ma's book and went on my way. I didn't want to be bothered with my father so I got away as fast as I could. The Arch Angel I went to, his name was Artemus and he looked like the angelic version of the hulk, if there ever is such a thing.
" So she just showed up at your house?" he was peeling an orange and squinting his eyes. The sun was extra bright today.
" Yes. I'd just come home and was getting into my bed when I saw something move in my closet."
" And you say it was your human?"
" Yes, It was my human."
:" Okay, well. You've got yourself one of two possibilities. She's either dead or you've got yourself a porter."
" A porter? What the heck is a porter?" Artemus bit a piece of his orange.
" A porter is a human who can teleport from our world to theirs. Sometimes they move here or some other Guardian city and end up going missing in their world." So now that I knew what Morgan was I had to find out how she was what she was.
" Ok, so how do porters become porters."
" Think about it. A porter is nothing but a half blood. Half human, half guardian. You do the math."
" So, you're saying that either Morgan's mom or her dad is a Guardian Angel?"
" Yes, pretty much." Wow, this is crazy. That explains why she could sense I was in the room with her.
" So,do they actually become a porter at a certain age or are they able to do this at any age?" An image of baby Morgan appearing in Karlum flashed through my mind.
" A porter usually recognizes their ability between the ages 14-18, but they can always mature in their abilities before then." I don't know why but I expected everything to be a bit more dramatic.
" How old is your porter?"
" She's eighteen."
" Ah, she's living that college life isn't she?"
" Yeah. Is there anything else I need to know about porters?"
" Yeah, now that you know that your human is a porter you should be able to see each other on earth now. Hey, another tip. You need to watch her. I've been getting reports about people being attacked and the attackers trying to kill their human. All cases in which the human was a porter. Something's going on Theodore. I don't quite know what it is yet but something's going on." Yes. Indeed there was. The good thing I got out of that was that I finally had answers. So if porters were able to teleport just like us Guardian Angels, that means that for Morgan to get back to earth all she had to do was think of home. Wait a minute. So if they just think of a place and go there how did Morgan know to come here? That was a good question.I went home immediately. Morgan needed her answers and more importantly I needed to give them to her. When I walked through the door the smell of bacon, eggs and cheese hit me like a whiff of faunk. Perfect! I hadn't eaten yet and I was ready to grub.
