//October 17, 2033. Defendant Lobby No. 4, 11:23 AM//
I had been watching the trial from the gallery, curious as to how it was going to end. When the judge called out that a recess was going to be taking place, I ran for the defendant lobby as fast as my short little legs could take me.
I was the first one in there, which I was pretty happy about. The floodgates from the courtroom doors had opened and crowds of people, at least those that had been watching the trial up until that point, came out afterwards. I took my place on the couch, effectively claiming that territory as my own.
James and Lily walked up to me afterwards. I patted the couch and gestured for them to sit. "How are things going? Do you think that you have this in the bag?" I asked. I was sure that I already knew the answer, but I wanted to strike up a conversation, and that was the best way that I could think of.
"I think that we have it all under control," James replied. "There isn't much left of this trial. I feel it. Call it a hunch, I guess."
"Unless O pulls something big on us, then we should be in the clear," Lily went on.
I gestured next for them to lean in so I could whisper to them. We probably looked rather strange, sitting on the couch next to each other and curling up together to talk about something. However, I didn't mind. I was more focused on the words that were about to leave my lips.
"O... That was the letter of Sakura Rai, right?" I asked of them quietly. Lily replied with a nod. Her eyes seemed to scream that she was having flashbacks to the whole kidnapping incident from years ago.
"I heard about her," James whispered. "Mr. Morix said that she was one of Chrysalis' aliases from a few years ago."
"Yeah," I said with a frown. "There was a kidnapping incident and she was revealed to be Oracle, so she left Interpol and never went back. I guess that they finally decided to use the letter again after all those years."
"I wish that they weren't doing this," Lily admitted. "It makes me think of her whenever I hear somebody say the letter..."
"I guess that we can't do much about it, though," I sighed. "We'll just have to suck it up."
"What's this about Sakura Rai?"
We all looked up to see U, who was standing nearby. My guess was that she had been there the entire time, listening in on our conversation.
However, I was going to pretend that this conversation hadn't happened.
"Who's Sakura Rai?" I asked, rubbing the back of my head nervously. "I don't know anybody named Sakura Rai. What about you guys? Do you know anybody named Sakura Rai?"
James and Lily shared a quick glance before shaking their heads violently. I saw U looking at them curiously, but she didn't question it.
Before she got the chance to ask anything about it, assuming she was going to in the first place, KJ walked up. I remembered him from a few years ago. Back when Venus was still alive, the two of them had been dating up until the point that she passed away. I hadn't seen him as much since then, but I still knew his face. "The trial is about to go back into session," he said.
I nodded. "Let's go," I told Lily and James quickly. We both got to our feet and ran for the courtroom doors to leave the confused U behind.

"Court is back in session for the trial of Yoshino Yukio," declared the judge. He looked down at the witness stand. "Has the hair clump been tested?"
Mukuro, who was standing at the witness stand, nodded. She held up the hair clump, which was in a plastic bag. "I have the results right here," she declared. "If you all wouldn't mind, I'm going to read them out."
"Go on and do it already. I have things to do today," said Nevada impatiently. She was tapping her fingers against the prosecution bench impatiently.
Mukuro nodded. "'The hair strands found by the defense team share DNA with Imgon Nadie, who has the Interpol letter of O. The clump has blood on it, and said blood comes from none other than the victim, Int R. Paul,'" she declared. "I think that should be good enough evidence, would you agree?"
The courtroom burst into whispers. I did my best not to strangle everybody there, as I wasn't exactly in a mood to listen to them ramble on and on about something that had nothing to do with them. I clenched my fingers around something in my pocket, that something being a stress ball that kept me from losing my mind in moments like these.
"Order!" the judge yelled out. "Where is O?! We need to hear his response to this!"
"I'm afraid that I have no idea," frowned Mukuro. "I was busy getting the results from the forensics team, so I couldn't really watch over him."
"I can go and get him, if you would like," said KJ from his place next to the door.
The judge nodded. "Yes. Please do so," he told KJ. The purple haired bailiff saluted the judge and dashed out of the doors, off to find O, wherever it is that he went off to.
"Since he's evading the trial, my assumption is that he did it," I heard James say to Lily. Since I was sitting in the first row above the defense bench, I could hear him loud and clear.
"I agree," said Lily. "I just hope that we can find him soon. I don't want this trial to go on much longer. Nevada clearly doesn't want it to either. She looks even more impatient than usual."
"We've found him!" came the sudden yell of KJ, who walked in with two other bailiffs in tow. The bailiffs behind him were holding O's arms as they carried him into the courtroom.
