"Now love, would you please be so kind as to tell me who gave you this." Liam said, showing me the pouch full of the sedative apparently named dozedale.

I looked down at my tattered Converse, keeping my mouth shut. My hands bawled themselves into tight fists expecting him to threaten me.

After a few seconds of silence, I arched my left eyebrow in confusion. "Why aren't you threatening me?"

He was taken aback by my sudden bluntness.

"I'm sorry, would you prefer me to interrogate you aggressively?" he said in a playful tone with a smile tugging at his lips.

"No, I mean why are you just asking nicely, aren't I technically your prisoner?"

"Not really, I wouldn't call you a prisoner. Plus, when I told you I didn't want a fight you let go of your dagger, meaning you're not hostile, giving me no reason to treat you poorly." He declared in a matter of fact tone.

"Captain!" An unfamiliar voice yelled as the door was yanked open to reveal a boy who seemed to be a few years younger than me.

Unlike most of his crew he wore a regular grey t-shirt, one that I personally liked since it had Han Solo from Star Wars on it.  He was pale with floppy black hair that was brushed to the side and big, nerdy circular glasses that made him look adorable.

"Am I interrupting something?" He said moving his eyebrows up and down suggestively. Okay, not so adorable anymore.

Liam closed his eyes and breathed out in irritation. "What's wrong, Matthew?"

"Hakori spotted a black feather just outside the tavern sir." Matthew answered in a far too serious tone.

Liam's face went blank. He turned his head to me steadily.

"He sent you here, didn't he, that black winged monster?" Liam asked, his intimidating persona returning.

I gave him a subtle nod. He grabbed both my shoulders and inched his face closer to mine. His eyes were glued on mine as they widened with hidden fear and what seemed like sincerity.

"You have to leave with us. He will not hesitate to kill you once he knows you haven't used the dozedale."

Liam's words played loudly in my head. I didn't know where exactly Liam and his crew we're going but...

I believed him.

I don't know why, but I sure as hell trusted him more than Peter.

"Okay." I whispered, unable to move my eyes away from his incredible blue ones.

"Yeesh, get a room." Matthew said and the two of us simultaneously turned our heads to look at him in annoyance.

"Let's go." Liam said, letting go of my shoulders, leaving me in slight disappointment.

We followed Matthew out of the room. Everyone in the tavern got up from their seats and had serious faces on, as if they were ready to fight a gruesome war.

I turned my head as far back as I could when I noticed his crew practically marching behind me and Liam.

Liam opened a squeaky back door till everyone but the workers emptied the room.

My eyes widened glancing over what seemed like a secret dock, located directly behind the tavern.

"Pretty sweet isn't it." Liam whispered in my ear with pride. My shoulders shuddered from the sudden closeness.

I nodded in silence as we walked towards the single enormous ship in the entire dock.

Did I say ship? No, I meant pirate ship.
