"Peter, wake up." I whisper as the light shines through the window, shaking the sleeping boy next to me. "My dad's gonna come to wake me up soon, you have to be out by then."
I hear him groan as he sits up slowly, giving me what I swear is the cutest, laziest smile ever. "Your bed is like a damn cloud." He chuckles.
"I know, it's magical. But you gotta get home, we have school in an hour and a half." I instantly see his eyes widen as he shoots out of bed, looking at my clock.
"Well- It's been fun?" He laughs softly as he picks up his suit, slipping it on and pressing the emblem on his chest.
"Super." I agree, grinning like a cat."Wait- before you go I have a question."
"Shoot."
"If I see you in the hall I can, like, hold your hand and stuff. Right? I don't know how, like, actual relationships work."
"If I'm being honest, I don't either- are we in a relationship?" He asks, and my eyes widen.
"I-I mean, I'd like to b-be?" I bite my lip, and I swear, I can see his eyes light up through his mask.
"C-cool! Then it's- yeah! So I can say you're my girlfriend?"
"Only if I can say you're my boyfriend." I laugh softly, about to speak again when I hear a knock at my door.
"Chloe, I need to talk to you." My dad says through the door as Peter waves and jumps out the window. I smile to myself and then open my door.
"Morning, dad." I mumble, looking down.
"Morning. Listen, I want to apologize that I was so harsh last night. I just didn't realize you were growing up so fast." He admits, and I nod. "But I also felt extremely disrespected. You've never disobeyed me like that."
"I'm sorry daddy, it won't happen again." I promise, holding up my pinkie. "So I can't break it?"
He laughs and wraps his pinkie around mine. "Breakfast will be ready soon, and you have a special someone taking you to school-"
"Beyonce?" I interrupt.
"Not Bey- It's never Beyonce, Chloe. Just come down and see." He sighs with a small smile, walking off.
"One day It'll be beyonce!" I call, quickly getting dressed as I run to the kitchen, grinning as I see who's there.
"Uncle Steve!" I say, running and hugging him. "Why are you here? I thought you and daddy were fighting?"
"We're not on great terms, but he said he lashed out at you and needed to make it up to you?" He chuckles, hugging me back.
"Ah, he's making me feel better about being grounded." I sit down, tapping my fingers on the marble countertop. "Are you making pancakes?"
"And eggs, and bacon- bacon's not for you." He clarifies, making me laugh.
"You remember meat makes me barfy!" I jokingly cheer, smiling,
"Of course I do, miss "I will be in my room until you get that super expensive lobster off my plate!"." He teases.
"I was a diva ten year old. I can't control my standards." I shrug with a laugh as he sets a plate of pancakes and scrambled eggs in front of me. "So you're driving me to school too?"
"Unless there's a problem with that?" He jokes.
"Nope. I love Happy, but he's a total hardass. Doesn't even let me play my mixtapes."
"Aw, I love your mixtapes." He chuckles.
"Then eat fast so I have time to do my makeup and choose one!" I joke, gesturing to his plate.
We get out of the house at the usual time I leave, but it takes us longer to get there due to jamming so hard we make three wrong terms. I get out just as the first bell rings, and run to the door, waving to Steve as I dart to class.
The day is fairly normal, but I get lots of questions on the Snapchat I posted to my story this morning, a selfie while brushing my hair with the caption "boy you left me speechless", me being more than happy to tell them who it was about.
When the lunch bell rings I walk to my locker, changing my books before the after-lunch rush, watching as Flash Thompson walks up.
"So, there's a rumour you and Parker are hooking up? Came to clarify that it wasn't true because you would never settle for someone like that." He says, making me laugh.
"Hello to you too, Flash. My day's been pretty good, what about you?" I tease as he chuckles, rolling his eyes.
"Answer the question, Mini-Stark."
"Not that it's anyone's business, but we're indeed together. Again, though, no one's business but our own."
"Seriously? C'mon, you used to stare at me all the time, and you settled for the Penis Parker?" He nudges me, making me laugh.
"Flash, I was staring at the periodic table and you know it. You wish you were as attractive as the atomic weight of xenon. Which, is 131.293, which you'd know if you appreciated my interest in thesexiness that is the elements."
"Sorry, that was the lamest thing anyone has ever said to me." He laughs, and I close my locker.
"Please, you love it." I hand him one of the jolly ranchers from my bag, which became a routine whenever we talked. "I'll see you in Geometry, rumour has it we start quadrilaterals soon." With that, I walk away, taking my seat at my usual table, which consisted of Ned, Peter, and a girl who's name I think is Michelle.
"Hey Chloe." Ned smiles as I scoot down closer to the two.
"Hey." I grin, taking an apple out of my bag, taking a bite. "I miss anything? Got caught up with Flash in the hall."
"Nothing too important, just the everyday star wars debate." Michelle looks up from her book, chiming in.
"So nothing important." I give what I want to be a smirk, but what's probably executed as a goofy grin.
"What did Flash want?" Peter asks curiously, taking a sip from his comically small milk carton.
"Just asking about whether we're hooking up. Word travels fast I guess." I shrug, taking his hand from across the table. "Why?"
"Cause he can be a dick sometimes, making sure he's not messing with you."
"C'mon, he can be sweet." I acknowledge, as I see Peter and Ned give me a confused look.
"Okay, whatever you say..." Peter mumbles.
"Is someone jealous?" I laugh as he blushes.
"No! I just don't trust him, that's all." He confesses, and I myself blush at how thoughtful he is.
"Well don't worry, I'm a strong girl. I can even be a robot if I want." I joke, making everyone at the table laugh.
It's sweet he cares, but his tone gives me an uneasy feeling... Should I be worried?
