Change of Plans

Stefan paced around the room, wearing an unreadable expression. Elena stood beside Damon, worried. Her eyes were dull without life and the once talkative girl, Caroline stood near the doorway as quietly as she could. The air was thick with tension and worry as Bonnie had her eyes closed, concentrating hard to preform the spell.

"Are you done yet, Bon Bon?" Damon asked. He was the only calm one in the room but his voice wasn't all confident.

Bonnie held up her hand to gesture him to be quiet. He rolled his eyes but complied.

Elena suddenly gasped as she noticed Bonnie receiving a blood nose. "Bonnie!" she exclaimed, as she ripped herself out of Damon's grip and ran towards her best friend.

"Elena!" Stefan snapped, "Get back! Let her finish the spell!"

Elena looked at Stefan, eyes wide. "S-Stefan! Her nose!"

He sighed at her in annoyance, "I can see that. Let her finish."

She shook her violently, "No Stefan. I won't allow it. She'll die because of some stupid spell!"

His eyes were turned to slits as his anger increased. Did she not realize this was all for her?

"Stand back Elena. He's serious about this." Damon told her as he stepped towards her.

She took a step away from Damon. "No. This isn't right."

Stefan walked towards Elena but she quickly took a couple steps away from him.

"Stefan, what are you doing! You're scaring us!" Caroline spoke up. He looked dangerous, eyes almost turning black.

"He'll kill us all! He'll kill us after he takes the coffin. If we don't open it now, we won't live another day. Don't you see?" He yelled, furiously shaking his head, "This is the last chance we'll ever get to get rid of him. Of Klaus!"

Caroline's figure tensed. "He won't think twice before killing us all. Even you, Caroline!" He continued. "What makes you think he'll spare you after all of this?"

"Stop it Stefan!" Elena yelled at him, tears streaming down her face.

He ignored them all and turned towards Bonnie, who was still chanting to her ancestors. Her blood nose was getting worse and some blood was entering her mouth. Damon licked his lips at the smell of blood but controlled himself.

"Hurry up Bonnie!" Stefan yelled anxiously.

In a flash, Damon threw Stefan into a wall. Standing above him, he sneered at his little brother. "Calm down. Yelling won't make her go faster."

Stefan stood up and glared at his brother. But he said nothing as he walked past him.

Bonnie's eyes snapped open. Elena gasped. "Bonnie!"

Bonnie was breathing heavily and stared at Stefan. "T-they said, they said-"

"What did they say Bonnie?" Caroline spoke softly.

She took a deep breath, swallowing some blood in the process.

"To open the coffin, there shall be blood. Blood of all three."

Elena look exhausted. "Doppelgänger blood?"

Bonnie glanced at her. "No. Witch, vampire and werewolf blood."

"Witch, easy. Vampire, got a room full of them. Werewolf? Not as easy." Damon said, walking over to Bonnie.

"Could we try witch and hybrid?"

Bonnie looked thoughtful. "We could give it a chance."

Everyone's gaze turned to Caroline. She sighed. "Fine, I'll go get Tyler."
