FUNNY STORY TIME!
Remember how I explained the stereotypical Catholic Homeschooler dress code? Some (certainly not all) kids basically choose to wear school uniforms even though they don't have to. Why they do that, I don't know. Most other homeschoolers don't know either. I enjoyed my year of freedom from dress codes and uniforms in homeschooling a ton. In fact, I was the fashion queen of the group. That probably shouldn't happen because I do not really have the best fashion sense as my family reminds me about once a week.
It was a cold December day, probably in Advent, and my mom had just dropped me off at church for the homeschool handbell choir practice. Most kids in the handbell choir went to 8:15 daily mass with their whole family and then stayed for practice immediately following. As a result they were probably wearing their church clothes. Well, I showed up wearing...🎶bum bum BUM🎶....JEANS! Skinny jeans probably from Old Navy that were probably too loose on me because I was a very small child. After going to school for pre-school through the beginning of sixth grade before this where the judgement from other kids had been ruthless on dress down days,  I was pretty used to wearing normal people clothes, trying to look my best, and didn't think anything of it. This was 2013 after all!
Well this was not the case to the homeschool bell ringers. I was making a bold fashion statement that was about to blow up their little minds! This was how the scene played out.

Girl: Wow!

Me: What?

Girl: I LOVE your pants! 😍

Me: Thank you...🙂

Girl: *to her sister* Look at her pants! Aren't they cool?

Girl's sister: Yes! They're so cool!

Me: Thank you. They're jeans.

Girl: Wow. I wish I had pants like that!

How I became the most fashionable person in the homeschool bell choir in blue jeans from Old Navy.
