"AHHH!"

I closed my eyes, I couldn't bare to see what was happening in front of me. I felt a pair of arms catch me and hold onto me; I grasp upon the person who caught me, digging my face into their chest.

He smells so nice.

I look up, realizing it was Evan with a big doofy grin. I then panic, forcing him to let go so I could collect my thoughts and regain my posture. I cough, dusting off myself while Evan decided to lock his arm with mine.

Walking towards where the train stopped, we came up upon the city. I faintly smiled, glad to see other people besides Evan. I wanted to hold onto Evan longer, in all honesty, but he let my arm go to shove his hands in his pockets. I just held my own hands in front of me, while we walked out and about around the city. I was very short compared to Evan, so trying to see pass everyone and road signs weren't as easy as I imagined. I sighed, hoping to my luck that I wouldn't lose Evan in the cluster of people walking on the pavement. The city reminded me of Brighton, where I grew up. Various people with their own various fashions and ways of talking. I observed and admired walking past the shops with their doors always open and some baking goodies inside. The scent of sweets filled my nose; it made me grow with excitement. Evan peered over at me, noticing how much I loved how the city worked in America.

*Evan's POV*

I looked down at Y/n, who had her mouth wide open with a smile while her eyes darted from place to place. She acts like she never seen a city like this before. My idea was to steal from the bakery, but I'll hold off since she's having fun just keeping to herself and looking around. She sometimes would drag me into a store and we would look around- she was a natural people person, but when I noticed that about her- she would go back to hiding back in her shell.

Whenever we would walk on the sidewalk, since it was crowded, she would lock her arm back with mine. She cowered when people got too close to her, but I couldn't stop smiling at her. I just watched her do her thing for a few hours: either sketching some 'artitecture' she admired, writing down keywords about places she enjoyed more than most, or just simply pointing out small things to me. She made sure to stay close to me, like a well behaved child.

I've done this with a few girls before, but I never felt this way around them. How rapidly my heart rate would change, or simply the way she made my chest and stomach feel when she would cling onto me. Something inside me told me to just sit back and let her do whatever she wants, so I was laidback the whole trip.

"Oh my god, they have a Barnes and Noble here!" She squeals, taking my wrist and dragging me into the small bookstore across the street. Walking in, it was too quiet for my liking. The smell of paper and Starbucks filled the air, and I hated it- but Y/n loved it. She ended up running off, so I was left in the front of the bookstore.

"Dammit Y/n, where'd you go?" I wandered off, trying to find her.

*Your POV*

The song Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol, setting the mood just when I looked over to the edge of the long shelf, seeing Evan propped up against it- watching me look at a handful of books I picked out. I looked back down, hoping he didn't see my flustered face.

I read the summaries of some romance novels, being just cheesy enough for me to want to become interested. Evan slowly walked over to me, resting a hand on my shoulder.

"I had to ask someone to help me find you." I smiled up at him, turning back to the books I had. Evan checked his phone, noticing it was getting dark now.

"Y/n, we need to head out. I'll call Jonathan." He reminded me, but I shrugged because all I cared about was the summary of this book. He realized what I was doing, so he walked off to call Jonathan.

"I like this one!" Evan peers up from his phone, looking at me setting the book back on the shelf.

"Okay, thanks dude. Bye." He hung up as soon as I set the books back down and walked over to him.

"Wait for Jonathan outside, I have to pee." He tells me. I nod, walking outside.

*Evan's POV*

Watching her walk away, I pick up the three books she really liked and I looked around to see if anyone was watching me. I smirked, shoving them into my inside giant jacket pockets.

*Your POV (Sorry for the constant POV switching)*

Finally getting home, I say my goodbyes to Jonathan and Evan. Evan stopped me for a second, walking me to my door and turning me around.

"I got you these." He reaches into his jacket to show me the three books that I said I really liked. I smiled widely, but then noticed...

"Did you steal these?!" I exclaimed. He shushed me; holding me by my shoulders.

"Oh my god Evan, you kept the stickers on them!" I looked at each book, turning them around to see the Barnes and Noble price stickers on them still.

"I knew you liked them, I'm sorry." He slid his hands down his face. I smile, still upset at him though.

"It's okay, thank you though Evan- it's thoughtful." I pull him in an awkward hug. He patted my back, chuckling.

"Goodnight." He turned around, walking back to Jonathan's car. I smirked, walking through the door. Walking up to my room, I set the new books in a new pile on top of my dresser. I flop down on my bed, looking at my ceiling fan spinning around.

*Evan's POV*

Sitting back in the back seat, I noticed Y/n left her sweatshirt she had on around her waist.

"How was your date?" Jonathan asked; I wrapped up the sweatshirt- feeling awkward that I smelled it. Well, I kept the perfume she threw at me, so I'll always her scent.

"I wouldn't call it a date. She just keep dragging me everywhere like a child." I smiled, analyzing the mint blue sweatshirt with some words on it saying, 'Books over Boys'

"Well, did you have fun?" He asked me another question.

"I strangely did."
