The next morning was the start of school- Monday's were awful. I got out of bed to hop into the shower and come out to slip on our school uniform. Doing my usual thing with my hair, I grab my school bag and my glasses and head to the bus stop.

Last night, all I thought about was Evan. The feeling of my heart sinks into my chest like it had weights attached to it. I wanted to see him, but I want him to think I didn't. Why? Who knows. I want to express my feelings to Evan, but I want to also make him think that I don't like him- even though it's obvious to him and his friends that I do. I want to play hard to get for such a 'bad boy' such as him.

Getting on the bus, I sit next to a new kid with black short hair and glasses that had the 3D lenses in them. He smelled like syrup and had giant headphones covering his ears.

"Hey." I softly speak up, taking my seat next to him. He pauses his music, lifting his headphones off his head.

"What's up?" He smiled widely; he seemed nice.

"I'm Y/n, and you are?" The boy adjusted his bag in his lap before responding, "I'm Smitty! I just moved here Saturday from Canada." Someone who also isn't from America- he sounds like a relatable person to talk to.

"I moved here when the year started; I'm from Brighton. At least I'm not the only non-American here." I nervously laugh, but he chuckles along with me. Tyler, who sat behind us rests his head on the back of our seat, eavesdropping.

"Smitty, dude!" Tyler seemed to know him, or at least his tone made him seem like he did. Smitty grinned widely, "Tyler, I didn't think you went here?!" I then rolled my eyes. The boys began to talk about their past and things I wasn't too interested in. Apparently, Tyler and Smitty are gaming friends. He met Smitty through Marcel and Jonathan.

"So, do you know about Y/n and Evan?" I felt my anger come back, but I tried blocking them out with my earbuds.

"No, tell me!" I then lose my cool, "Nothing concerning any of you. I'm pissed off at him and frankly, I don't want to hear or see him today." Tyler leaned back in his chair, texting on his phone. Smitty turns back around, "I'm sorry Y/n." He apologizes. I ignore them until we get off the bus.

We got new assigned seats in first, so I sat the farthest away from Evan, Tyler, and Marcel. It was easier to concentrate anyway without Evan breathing down my neck. Though, today Evan wasn't in school- maybe he's skipping school, which is typical of him. Weirdly, whenever he does something, his friend's follow behind him. All of his friends were here though, just as confused as I am about his absence. It had a different feeling in the atmosphere without him staring at me or pestering me, and I sadly missed it. I missed him.

Second period rolls by and Jonathan and I are in History. He apologized for everything yesterday and I accepted his apology; he began to talk about Evan and how upset he was about yesterday as well.

"Tyler just got us into a van and drove to your house. To be honest, Evan didn't know we were all coming to get him. He didn't want us to, but Tyler insisted on annoying you both." I slightly roll my eyes; I did believe him, but I didn't want to show it.

"Well, he could've told me that." Was my response; Jonathan then dropped the conversation due to our lesson in class.

By the time school was letting out, I heard nothing from Evan. No texts, no calls, no nothing. It worried me more than it should. His friends even blew up his phone, but there was no reply. Maybe I should text him. I shoot him a quick text.

Y/n: Hey Evan, just wanted to make sure you're okay and alive. Jon told me about yesterday.

I wanted to apologize for my words, but I wanted to do it in person.
