This story is based off a real book, created by two very talented ladies who go by the pen name Akira Himekawa. They make extremely good Zelda books and art, so if you're a Zelda fan, check them out!

This is not the exact story of Oracle of Seasons. Some events have been switched up, shortened, or ignored altogether.

A peaceful village somewhere in the Hylian Countryside...

"Link! Link!! Link, where are you?" A boy sat in a chicken coop, holding an egg. Noises started to peep from inside. "Oh!" A big crack appeared in the shell, and out popped a tiny beak. "Wow!" A little eyeball peered at the boy. "Whoa!!"

Before he knew it, a baby chick was in his hands. "You've been born!"

KABONK!

"Ow!!" A bucket hit the back of his head. He turned his head to see a man looking quite angry. "Link! Answer when I call! Get outside for sword lessons!" Link rubbed his head, while a single tear formed in his left eye. Though, it disappeared very quickly. "Owwwww! Geez! Forget about that, gramps! A baby chick was born! Isn't it cute?"

Link held out the baby chick. His grandfather leaned over to look at it. He coughed into his hand, as he stood up straight. "Link, that's not quite right. The chick wasn't "born", it "hatched"... technically, that is. Grandma will take care of the chick! It's lesson time! Lesson time!"

Link's grandfather grabbed Link's arm, as Link tried to grab onto to something to stop him. "Do I HAVE to? Can't it wait?" Link lost his grip and was dragged outside.

Link and his grandfather clashed swords against each other, with steel shields. "Tsk-tsk! If you don't try harder, you'll get hurt!" The baby chick peeped from the side. Link blocked with his shield. As he blocked, he revealed a mark on the back of his left hand. A mark of three triangles. The Triforce.

Flashback
"WAAH! WAAAH!!"
"Oh, look at the child's left hand! He has the mark of the sacred pyramid. He's sure to grow up to be someone important!" A man looked at the newborn baby, as his mother laid in the bed. He picked up his uncovered baby boy and held him in the air. "You'll be the greatest knight in Hyrule! Greater even than me!"

The baby's mother smiled. "Oh, father... I just want him to grow up with a kind heart. My wonderful Link, grow up happy..."

Present Time
"Gramps is set on me becoming a knight...  but that's not the life I want." Another child looked at Link, as he moved hay. "Why not? Knights are cool! You're a lucky guy, Link!" Link looked up at his friend. "L-Lucky?!"

Back at his house, Link's grandfather spoke to Link. "Listen, we may live like this now, but we moved to the countryside to nurse your mother back to health. You come from a long line of knights who loyally serve the King of Hyrule. As a young man, I was a Great War hero! Thirty-two years ago, I once..."

Link laid his entire head on the table. "I've heard that story hundreds of times!" He let out a huge yawn, and his grandfather slammed the table with his first, as Link suddenly fixed his posture. "Sit up straight!! You're always slouching like a rubber tree."

His grandfather walked over to the side of the table. "You're smart, and good with a sword. And most of all, you've got that mark on your left hand. You're destined to be the greatest knight in the land." His grandfather held Link's left hand.
