Wynter's POV

"You should answer that, you know." Pam commented as my phone rung once again.

"I'd rather not."

"Why not?"

"It's Alex."

"So?" Pam seemed confused.

"He's just going to ask why I'm in the hospital. What am I supposed to say?"

"Tell him the truth?"

"Oh yeah so I should be like 'Oh hey Alex, yeah I'm in the hospital because I tried to kill myself. Nothing serious, don't worry!'?"

She nodded, understanding.

"You have to tell him eventually."

I shrugged, putting my ear buds in. The doctor walked in then, though. He glanced at his clipboard before smiling at me and Pam. I took one of my ear buds out so I could hear what he was saying.

"Alright Wynter, it looks like you're going to be able to go home in the morning. However, we strongly suggest you see our psychologist s few times a week for your severe depression. You might want to take getting anti-depressants into consideration, also."

"You want me to see a shrink?!" I exclaimed.

"Wynter!" Pam snapped.

I rolled my eyes but didn't say anything.

"Alright well, here's the name and number of the pyschologist, hopefully you'll give her a call. You'll also need to come back twice a month for observation, to see how you're doing and what more we can do to help you." And with that, he nodded and walked out, again looking at his clipboard.

Pam turned to me but looked down first, crossing her arms. It was obvious she was thinking about what the doctor had said.

Sighing, I put my earbud back in and clossed my eyes. I let my thoughts slowly drift to Alex, and I smiled at the thought of him. Maybe I should call him, what if he's worried? But then again, why would he be? Who would be worried about me, of all people? I opened my eyes to see Pam sitting in a chair with her eyes closed, pintching the bridge of her nose as if she had a headache. I grabbed my phone and got up, heading towards the door.

"Where you are you going?" Pam asked, still not opening her eyes.

"I'm going to call Alex."

She opened her eyes and studied me.

"Why don't you just do it in here?"

"I need my privacy, Pam."

She rolled her eyes but nodded. I walked out and down the hall, making sure she wouldn't be able to hear me.

I pressed Alex's name and clicked call, waiting for him to answer.

"Wyner?!" He asked, frantically.

"That's my name, don't wear it out." I smiled.

He sighed, obviously not in the mood to joke. "Where have you been? Why didn't you answer my calls? Are you okay?"

I rolled my eyes. "I'm fine."

"Where have you been?"

"The hospital."

"What?!" He exclaimed. "Why?! Are you okay?"

"I'm fine, dumbass."

I could imagine him rolling his eyes as he answered. "Why are you in the hospital, Wynter?"

"There was a um... an accident. Don't worry about it."

"What happened?"

"Stop Alex. It doesn't matter."
