chapter 26: last chapter: surprise

Adriens pov

I woke up in a dark place. For a moment I didn't know where I was, then the days memories came flooding back. Where is everyone? I thought to myself. Better yet, where is Marinette?

I sat up and looked around. I panicked. I didn't see her trough this darkness. I chose to look for her. But what direction? They all were equally dark and foreboding.

I started to get worried and desperate after about an hour of wondering. Something inside me stirred and told me to go right. I turned sharply, following my instincts. I walked on for what felt like an eternity and was about to fall into the clutches of despair. But then I found her. Laying unconscious a dozen or so meters away. A halo of light pink light seemed to illuminate the spot where she lay. I stood and looked. Just looked at her. But then I noticed something troubling. She wasn't breathing.

I ran at top speed towards her. I picked her up into my arms as tears threatened me with everything they had. She couldn't be leaving me now. No, I just got her back. "Mari- no" I sobbed, holding her close. I picked my head up and looked at her face. Her usual laughing eyes were closed and her beautiful smile wasn't in its normal spot. My tears fell onto her face. Using my thumb I wiped them off. I pulled her closer and rocked with her in my arms. I wished to the highest power of miraculous that she could come back to me. Tikki came up from her purse.

Her legs and arms got bigger. Her abdomen got longer. And her head got to the size of a human. My eyes grew wide as Plagg did the same thing. Tikki held her hands out to grab Mari but I jerked back. She retracted before giving me a reinsurance look. I held her out to tikki. She  put Mari on a black and green bed that wasn't there ten minutes ago. She grabbed Plaggs paw and closed her eyes. I don't know what she did but I would give that kwami my life.

Mari Sat up so quickly I jumped back. I thought I was hallucinating. I ran and grabbed her. Again I cried but this time I cried tears of joy. "Don't ever leave me again." I looked straight into her eyes. She nodded enthusiastically.

"I'd never dream of it. Adrien Agreste, I love you." She said tearfully too.

"I love you too, Mari" I said.

I turned to see tikki and plagg back in kwami form. I nodded to them and said thanks. With Mari in my arms I carried her out.

***********6 months later***********

Mari walked next to me. I reached down and grabbed her hand. We were on a date night in the park. No one was out and the stars and moon were the only things illuminating the path. The was a part of this park that I only know about. I was guiding her there. It was the perfect spot. So cliche which I know she will love.

"Adrien, where are you taking me?" She said with a giggle.

"Somewhere special, m'lady " I returned.

"Ohhh okay, chaton" she mused.

Just a few more yards until hidden entrance. That's why no one has ever found it. For each miraculous holder, there is a secret spot for only them. Of course they are free to bring whom ever they wish.

"Okay open your eyes LB" I whispered into her ear. We were on a small bridge over looking Crystal Lake. Or so plagg called it. The lake shimmered in the bluish moon light. Everything was perfectly set up in the middle of the bridge. White and red candles burned on little pedestals. Rose petals littered the bridge and lake water.

"Adrien, what-" she faltered for a minute.

I pulled her closer to the flames but nit close enough to burn her. "From the very moment I met you I knew you were the right one for me. The best couples go into situations meant to tear them apart but we came out stronger. I love you Marinette Dupain-Cheng, Will you do me the honor of taking my hand?"

Hahaha Cliff hanger! Only cuz I love you. Now here is the surprise. Yes a double surprise. There will be a third in this series. I mean, unless you don't want to know if she said yes or no.
