Victoria made her way to her room, wanting nothing more than an eleven hour nap to satisfy her fatigue. However, once she laid down on her bed, her mind was overcome with possibilities.
There was so much going on, so much that Victoria couldn't distinguish anymore.
First of all, they had a new enemy. A robot, nonetheless! One that Tony is at fault for creating.
Secondly, she has discovered she has some sort of extreme healing power.
Thirdly, that boy with the silver hair wouldn't get out of her head.
Victoria would never admit this aloud, but she was scared. She had a bad feeling about the whole ordeal. Normally her 'bad feelings' turned out to be true.
She shot up, grabbing her glass that stood on her bedside table, and threw it at the wall. A small scratch indented the wall but Victoria didn't care.
She picked up a piece of the shattered glass, rolled up her sleeve and sliced. The blood rose to the surface of her skin, before being dissolved back into her skin that formed another layer above it.
Determined, she made another cut, after another, after another.
She felt no pain after the eleventh cut, watching in awe as the gash healed itself within a minute.
She drew the edge to her arm for another slice, but gasped and jumped as Tony opened her door.
"Are you alright, Vic? J.A.R.V.I.S. informed me that there was some sort of cra—"
Tony's eyes moved to the pieces of glass on the floor, to the piece that currently rested above her wrist. He took large strides towards her, gripping the shard in his hand before grabbing her arm to look for damage.
"Look kid, I know life as a teen may be difficult – but self-harm is not the way to go. Trust me—"
"—No, Tony you don't understand!" She grabbed the shard again. "Look!"
"No, Victoria, stop this right now—"
He was cut off as she dragged the edge to her skin again, making a deep gash in her arm. He watched as the opening closed, almost as if the skin weaved together to form a bandage. He sputtered, before looking at her flabbergasted.
"Okay, what just happened?"
"That's the thing, I don't even know," she stood, starting to clean up the glass. "When we were in Sokovia, I went after Strucker alone. He stood at the door, almost escaping when I showed up. He thought me to be some weak, little girl. I kicked him down, but he stuck a syringe into my leg. I passed out, and when Natasha helped me curl my hair for your party, I burnt my hand. I withdrew it, cradling my hand but when I looked at it – it glowed. It literally glowed a pale yellow, before the burn was gone completely. I burnt myself again, and the same thing happened.
"When we fought the robots, one gashed up my legs. They healed within a minute, Tony. As did these cuts. Whatever Strucker injected me with, caused my healing processes to accelerate dramatically."
Tony stayed quiet, assessing the information he was just told.
"Tony, please don't tell my dad. So far, only you and Natasha know – and I'd like to keep it that way."
"Vic, your father will kill me if he finds out that I knew before him."
"Just," she paused. "Just let me figure out the extent of my powers. Then I'll tell the whole team, okay?"
"Don't do anything stupid, okay?"
"I won't."
"Well, I'll get someone to clean up the rest tomorrow morning. Get some rest, kid."
"Thank you, Tony."
He kissed her head before exiting. She grabbed her phone, before dialling the number she was so familiar with.
"Hello?"
"Mom."
"Hey sweets! How are you?"
"I'm okay, how's everything there?"
"The kids are missing you and your father like crazy."
"I miss them too."
"I don't assume you phoned to know how we're doing, did you?"
"There's so much going on, mom. Tony made a robot that went rogue and I have this weird thing going on now and there's this boy that infuriated me but he is so charming and— ugh— it's just a mess and—"
"—Okay woah! Hold your horses, doll, what boy?"
"In Sokovia, there was some guy that could run super fast. He was enhanced to have super speed, and his sister was like some sort of witch or something. Anyway, he knocked me off my feet, became all cheeky about it then I stabbed his bicep and he zoomed off. He was so attractive, mom! But I need to get over it, because I'll most likely never see him again."
"Well, if you two were meant to be – fate will find his way to you."
"Mom! That's so cheesy!"
"But it's the truth. Now—" Laura grunted, before letting out a breathy chuckle. "Nathaniel wants to go to sleep. I'll speak to you soon sweetie. I love you."
"I love you too mom."
She put the phone down, before groaning out loud at her stupid, hormonal, teenage thoughts. She was merely attracted by him, as most girls would be. Nothing more, nothing less.
