I've been sleep deprived with every attempt to write this ahaha, end me. Sorry for mistakes/boringness
The first week of term had been hell. From an endless amount of homework to unwanted attention from all of the school, the two Chosen Ones were grateful for the weekend to come.
But even the weekend was busy.
It began with a Hogsmeade trip Saturday morning, then a meeting with Dumbledore in the evening, then Sunday's detention with Snape, and on top of it, the year of N.E.W.T.'s ceased to give them a break.
Speak of classes, Anna had done quite well in them all...except for History of Magic.
Since the incident on the first day - where Professor Mavis had slandered Sirius, calling him 'stuck-up', 'stupid', and 'murderous' - Anna had not returned to the class. She skipped every day and felt no remorse, and, to her delight, no superiors had confronted her about it...yet.
Her favourite class so far was Care of Magical Creatures. Was it because Caspar was in it? Maybe, but she also felt it as an escape from her friends and the attention she had gained, especially this year. Not only that, but Caspar was extremely kind to her and they never had deep or depressing conversations.
And for that, Anna was grateful.
Besides school stuff, the tension alone between Anna and Harry was enough to drive them mad. The two had been in predicaments with each other before, but this was definitely one of the worst. With every glance at Harry, Anna had the urge to either cry or kiss him, there was no in between.
She knew she was digging herself into a hole of heartbreak, but despite his coldness towards her, she wanted something to work for the two of them.
Harry Potter had broken her heart into a million pieces and instead of making an attempt to repair it, the poor girl started beating herself up over him. She didn't care how much he had hurt her in the past and present. It seemed to be an endless cycle of confusion and hurt feelings.
Until one day when the four Gryffindors sat in the Common Room, everyone except Hermione procrastinating on their homework.
"Honestly you three," she had started, her voice authoritative, "if you had any common sense you'd know to take sixth year seriously! N.E.W.T.'s are very important!"
"Yeah, well the amount of homework we get is bloody ridiculous," muttered Ron, eating a biscuit he'd stolen from the Great Hall. Anna raised an eyebrow at him and he grumbled before handing one to her.
She smiled. "Thanks."
"So..." the ginger trailed off, his eyes flitting between Harry and Anna. "How're you two?"
There was an awkward silence, and the second they made eye contact, the raven-haired boy said, "I have to get a book from the library" and left.
"Really? 'How're you two?' That was the best you could come up with?!" asked Hermione, exasperated.
"What? I dunno what to say!" Ron responded through a mouthful of biscuit.
Anna gave them a look. "Wait, what were you guys trying to do?"
Hermione hesitated, giving a sigh as she shut her book and straightened up a bit. "Harry...well, he told us about what happened-"
"Of course. So, what do you guys think?" asked Anna boredly.
"We agree...maybe you aren't ready-"
"Nuh uh, she agrees. I think you should do whatever you want," said Ron, holding his hands up in innocence. "Harry on the other hand...well, he thinks you're bloody desperate-"
