Crumbling

"Damn. So that's how you and Sean met? It's such a romantic sick com. He's the hero that saves the damsel in distress." Mark chuckled, cooing at Anastasia for the twentieth time in the last two minutes. "I know. It's like we came straight from a fanfic or something." I chuckled, then it disappeared, " What if this was all just a dream, or one big book?" "Dude. I highly doubt that. I'm sure this is real life, or at least I think. Just don't worry about it." Mark chuckled. *Crash* Mark and I quickly stood up, rushing to the source of the sound. I heard more crashes after that, which only worried me more.
"Get the fuck! Out of my life!" An Irish voice yelled. I ran into our, Sean and my, bedroom, Mark trailing behind me. The mattress was off the bed, clothes, shoes, undergarments were thrown across the room, the main mirror in the room was shattered. Sean punched the wall, " Shut the fuck up!"  I walked carefully into the room making sure not to step onto the broken glass. Something caught my eye, a photo album. 'Sean and (Y/N) ; Junior High- Graduation' I picked it up with ease, setting it onto the dresser. Sean had punched the wall once more before rested a hand on his shoulder. He jerked away from my touch, his eyes were completely black. "Sean? Are you okay? What's wrong?" I asked. He shook his head, "I don't even know." His eyes turned back to normal, revealing dark blue eyes. "Tell me what happened." I said, in a calm smooth voice. "I don't want to talk about it." He said, anger lingered in his voice. "Sean. Tell me no-" A sudden pain rushed to my cheek, Sean slapped me, and hard to. I looked at him with disbelief, "What's wrong with you." Another rush of pain to the same cheek. "Alright Sean that enough." Mark growled, handing Anya to me, "Go downstairs." I nodded, smiling softly at the baby girl, "It's okay Anastasia. Mommies here." I headed downstairs, grabbing something before leaving the room.
I smirked at the picture. It was Sean and I, sitting on a bed next to each other, giggling, or what it looked like. I remembered that day well. Laura, my step mom, had just bought us loads of games, soda, snacks, ice cream, and water to last is a whole day. Sean was mad because I was beating him at 'Life; The Game'. Stop being such a Cunt Waffle, I remembered saying, smirking as I did so. A tear fell onto the laminated photo, What happened to him? What happened to us? I didn't even notice Mark, sitting next to me. I sniffed, "This isn't the first time he's done this. Ever since Anastasia was born, he's been distant, different. " More tears fell onto the photo, "I don't even know who he is anymore." Mark hugged me tightly, holding Anya on his side with care. "It's going to be okay. I promise." He spoke softly. "I'm always thinking about leaving him. Taking Anya and leaving, going somewhere to start new. But I know Sean would want to see his daughter." I choked. "Just wait it out. Amy and I will always be there for you."  He ran his fingers through my hair, showing comfort. I looked at young Anastasia, poor thing didn't know what was going on. She looked at me, the Mark, then back to me. I thought about her sleepless night, where she would just cry for Sean and I. Go grab that noisy kid, Sean would say, rolling over, covering his ears. I would sing to her, tell her Everything was Alright, but it's not. Everything's broken, this is nothing like a Fairy Tale. It was a living nightmare. Everyday was a wild card. What Jack will I have today? I thought, The asshole? Or the loving Father, and boyfriend? Will he shut himself in his room? Or will he come out and bond with his two month daughter? Question after question, nothing seemed to have an answer anymore. What are we even doing anymore? We're mindless dogs chasing our tails, doing the same thing over and OVER again. It was a circus act, and he was our ring leader, ordering us what, when, and where to do it. No more. I stood up, "I'm going to talk to him. Straighten him out." Mark looked at me, "Are you sure? I can do that for you?" "I'll be fine. I promise." That's when I learned an important lesson. Don't make promises you can't keep.
