Katniss P.O.V.

Our little bundle of joy is 1 week old now, which means we can finally take him home. I think Peeta and I are ready to follow the path that Riley will take us down. Riley is so adorable. He has curly blonde hair, like Peeta. And gray eyes, like me. But you can't forget the fact that he also has Peeta's nose.

After we finished packing all of our belongings, we head out to the car. Peeta sets up Riley's carseat while I hold him in my arms. Once Peeta is finished, I carefully buckle Riley in and climb in next to him. I sat in back with Riley just in case something were to happen...Better safe than sorry, right? Once we pull into the driveway, I take Riley out and carry him upstairs to his room. As I first walk into his room, I begin to tear up. Seeing what Peeta did with Riley's room made me so happy. I feed Riley quickly before I set him down in his crib. I quietly then walk downstairs to find Peeta sitting on the couch watching the news. I walk over to him and plop down onto his lap, and he lets out a moan.

"Hey," I say.

"Is he asleep?" questions Peeta.

"Yes, yes he is."

"Good. Hopefully it will always be that easy. And that quick." He replies.

"Thank you, Peeta."

"For what?"

"For everything you do for me and Riley," I say beginning to feel the tears being released.

"Oh Katniss. Sweetie, don't cry. I do those things for you because I love you. And I'm really sorry about what happened between the two of us."

"I love you too. Peeta, didn't you tell me to forget that even happened? But I wish I could give you something else that you want."

"I did say that. But what do you mean when you say, 'something else?'" he replies almost curiously.

"Like...What else do you want?" I ask.

"Katniss Mellark. You are the only thing I have EVER wanted. And now we have Riley. I don't need anything else."

"Are you sure, Peeta?"

"Positive, I am honestly the luckiest man on earth, because I have Katniss as my wife and an adorable baby boy. What else could a man dream of?" he responds.

I think to myself for a minute. I keep thinking the same thing over and over. "Why don't you want a girl who's not broken?" or "a girl who doesn't cry herself to sleep or wake people up in the middle of the night because of nightmares?" Either I said that out loud or I need to work on hiding my facial expressions because the next works that come out of Peeta's mouth are:

"Katniss. You are not broken. If you think you are broken then, I guess that means we're both broken. Together."

That last word, "Together," made me tremble.

"I just don't want you to ever leave me. EVER!"

"Don't worry, I won't," he responds.

Almost as if on cue, we hear Riley crying upstairs.

"I'll get him," I say as I lean forward to stand up.

"No," Peeta says fiercely as he grabs my wrist and sits me back down, "I've got it."

"Thanks," I tell him.

"No problem, hun."

As Peeta walks upstairs, I lay down on the couch. When he brings Riley down with him, we all snuggle on the couch together. After a few minutes, we all fall asleep quietly and peacefully as one small happy family.
