Peeta P.O.V.
Katniss is sleeping very heavily when I hear Riley begin to cry. So I get up and go and try to calm him down. Once I reach Riley's room, I pick him up and start to bounce him. He is really fussy this morning. And his forehead is really hot, he's sweating like crazy, and his body is cold. I take him downstairs and get him some water. After I set him in his pack-n'-play, I quickly run upstairs. I could see that Katniss was barely awake, so I gently shook her.
"Kat? You should come downstairs. I think there might be something wrong with Riley."
After I said that, she bolted straight up. Then she went straight downstairs in front of me. Once we got downstairs Riley began to scream louder.
She went over to where Riley was and picked him up. "Sshhh...It's okay baby," Katniss told him.
Then she told me I should call and make an appointment at the doctors.
"Hello?" I said to the woman on the other end.
"Hi, this is Doctor Robin. How can I help you?"
"This is Peeta Mellark. I'm calling because my wife, Katniss, and I think there might be something going on with our son."
"Can I have a name?"
"Riley. Riley Matthew Mellark," I tell her.
"Okay, Mr. Mellark. We have an appointment open for 11:30 today. Will that work?"
"Yes, that would be great!"
We say our goodbyes then we both hang up.
I told Katniss about our appointment then we took Riley upstairs with us to get ready. When we were finished getting dressed, Katniss took Riley to get him ready.
At 11:00, we left for the doctors. Once we arrived, we waited in the waiting room for Dr. Robin to come out and get us. About 15 minutes later, we were called back to see her. She asked us what some of Riley's symptoms were and we gave her all of the ones we could think of. She took Riley's temperature and told us that he just has a minor fever. But for babies, minor fevers can be very dangerous to newborns. Dr. Robin gave us some medication to give to him.
We thanked her and she said that if anything else out of the ordinary happens, to immediately call and schedule an appointment.

Once we got home, I gave Riley some of his medicine. It really only helped with the sweating. By then it was around 2:00, so I decided to put Riley down for his nap. I told Peeta to either go to work or get some rest, but like normal, he doesn't listen.
"No. I'm staying here just in case something happens," he informs me.
There really is no point of arguing, so I leave it as is. I walk into the kitchen and make something to eat for the both of us, since we didn't have breakfast or lunch.
"Peeta? Come eat. I made peanut butter sandwiches."
"Ooh! My favorite," he responds.
Once he comes over to the table we talk about Riley, his work, and other little things. But at one point, Peeta mentions something I didn't expect.
"Katniss?"
"Hmm," I reply.
"When do you want more kids? IF you want more?"
To be honest that question took me by surprise. I mean...we just had Riley.
"I don't know, Peeta. I don't know if I want more. Well, not right now at least."
"Okay. That's fair," he says looking back down at his plate.
"Why do you ask?"
"I don't know. Just something to think about."
"Well," I say, reaching my hand across the table to hold his, "When I'm ready, I will let you know."
That last part seems to leave Peeta smiling happily. We both finish our lunches then put our dishes in the sink. While I am washing the dishes, Peeta goes up to our bedroom. After I finish with the dishes I walk up to where Peeta went. I notice he was sleeping so I quietly go over to him and lay down next to him. In a matter of seconds, I am fast asleep.
