Bittersweet Tragedy

Empty promises created on a paper surface.
Torn apart like they weren't even worth it
Scribbled over by tiny hands
Simple elastic bands, picked up from foreign lands

Mascara stained clothing, and blood-stained coping.
Friendships lay broken, like a winters night ocean.

Anger, corruption and greed.
Sweet and sour, bitter and sweet.
Tragically bound between 2 different personalities.
Give or take
Everything is yours to break
There you go, continue destroying what I once enjoyed,
You can have my trust and my kindness
Break them all, they're yours for the taking.
Advantage is so easily created.
After all nothing ever stopped you before.

Sweet and sour, bitter and sweet.
These are the things I shouldn't be.
Turning the tables, to create catastrophe
Something only, you would call a bittersweet tragedy.

Taking away all the sadness and the pain
Only to throw them back into my face
All for your own personal gain.
And to witness, the fashion statement of the year.
Those simple scars hiding beneath my shirt.
Whilst everyone else' are showing through their skirts, drawing attention, when they bleed.
Breaking another clean streak
Filling it with another attention leak.

Taking words out of someone's mouth
Twisting them around, to see how they sound
Manipulating, taking advantage.
To make yourself feel fantastic.

Sugar and salt
Making it feel like it's my fault.
Soap and water
Bubbles and lotion
It's clear that you forget about devotions
And you clearly keep your options open.
Even when your emotions are outspoken.

Empty promises, made of paper
Folded into a plane by little hands of pain
And aimed for the back, of the people that put on a front.
To make sure, everyone is happy and kind and true, only to realise the only person that gets hurt is you.
