My footprints have worn out the snow and I'm left on my own,I look to the left, and realise your tracks have been coated,It was as if you were never here, as if you never even came near this remote river in which I struggle.
And now in a river of tears I'm drowning, and I have loads to say, but I can't find a way, and as I'm pulled under I whisper so much, And even with my lungs full of water, I miss your soft touch.
I promise that you'll never be lonely, you'll do perfectly fine without me, and I know you tried to save me, and I'm not proud of where I am, where I've been abandoned, where I've ended up, but I'm tired of racing life, and getting runner up.
And now in a river of tears, I'm drowning, and I have loads to say, but it doesn't matter anyway, and as I am pulled under, I whisper so much, and even with my lungs full of water, I miss your soft touch.
As I await my last breath, I see your face next to mine, and it breaks my heart knowing that will be the last time,
As the waves crash against my weakened body, I touch my finger with yours as my eyes drift closed, black shadows interrupt my vision, I know you'll be asking where I am, and you'll be here soon,You will see me floating, and as I fight the instinct to thrash for breath, I hear you yelling my name in the distance,
And as an angel behind you I see your tears fall as you drag my body out of the water, with helpless hands you try to save me again, and your tears fall onto my pale skin, I'm so sorry you couldn't save me this time.
And now in a river of tears, I'm floating, and I have loads to say,But it doesn't matter anyway, and as I am pulled out, the wind whispers so much, and even with my lungs full of water, I miss your soft touch.
