Carlos POV

I turned around facing Jane. We were in the cafeteria line. She held her empty tray to the side. "Carlos?" She asked leaning back on her heels and smiling.

I put my hands on her shoulders. "I'm the luckiest guy on Earth," I said out of the blue.

Jane blushed. "And I'm the luckiest girl." That was our little joke since the day I asked her to cotillion.

Jane grabbed the end of her ponytail and twirled it around, the color returning to her cheeks.

I'm the sound of food being spark onto my tray brought me back. I turned around quickly and filled in the gap I had created in the line.

I turned left and went to sit with Mal, Evie, Jay, and Lonnie. Evie was fixing her makeup, Jay was talking to a crowd of girls, Mal was picking at her food, and Lonnie attempting to make conversation.

We sat down between Jay and Evie. Evie turned around and started talking to Jane about girl talk. I was never good at that, Dude told me himself.

I pulled out a chocolate bar from my pocket and broke it in half. I held the other half pit to Jane and tapped her on the shoulder. "Ooh, thank you," she said.

She held open her mouth and I put the chocolate piece between her teeth and she took it.

I finished my lunch. Jane mist have finished hers too because she put her head on my shoulder. And I put mine on hers.
