Chapter Four:
Love is many things and sometimes we are never really sure if it even exists, but all I know is that if you were to show me her soul in a photograph, I wouldn't even ask to see the others. -Christopher Poindexter
Nate
By the time Luke found us, me and Tyler were standing near the crowded right corner facing the stage, behind the front row amidst a group of lovey dovey couples. The concert had started and the lead vocalist said something about playing their first song.
As the first song rose in volume, the theater went completely dark with nothing but flashing lights and beams of light changing from blue, green and yellow revealing the band members and the front audience, the large crowd of people further behind could only be distinguished as an ocean of blurry white dots.
They were all holding up their phones to record the concert. Tyler held up his phone beside me cheering loudly as he looked up at the band singing the chorus of the song in sync with the lead guitarist.
"Dammit, my phone's out of battery." Luke grunted and slid his phone into his jeans pocket as he looked up at the band bobbing his head to the beat and dancing freakishly.
I watched as most of the fans in the front were immersed in the music as they jumped to the rhythm of the drummer's beats and sang in unison with the lead singer's clear voice. All of them were holding up their phones, recording the performance, except one.
The figure was just standing there bouncing at the right moments and fluctuating between putting their hands up in the air and messing their long hair.
I squinted under the harsh laser lights trying to get a better glimpse at the figure just when Ty spoke over the crowd and said, "I can't see the stage! That couple in the front is making out right in front of my view. Hey! move it! I'm trying to have the time of my life here!"
Luke glared daggers at the couple making out. "Stinkin' Valentine's day, they're practically sucking each others faces off!"
I grabbed Ty's arm and looked down at him smirking. "C'mon, let's go down to the front."
"Nu-uh, I'm not coming deep into the sound pit. My ears are ringing just fine here." Luke folded his hands against his chest.
"Fine! Nate and I are gonna go to the front to get a better view. Later!" With that, Tyler grabbed my hand as we maneuvered our way past the couples and towards the front where the bass guitarist was currently rocking out in a full blown guitar solo.
"Woah." Ty pulled out his phone and held it in the air whistling loudly and recording the guitar solo as his mouth hung ajar his eyes lighting up in awe. "He's....amazing!"
I grinned as the music soared to the depths of my soul making me feel invincible.
I glanced to my left noticing that the only person without a phone was the girl beside me who was bouncing wildly.
Long waves of dark brown hair flowed down her back, her face was flawless under the stripes of blue laser beams as she whipped her hair from side to side laughing with her friend in the front, oblivious to whether someone was watching or not.
