Falling

I feel my blood freeze. My body feels cold as I shiver. Sage whines and kisses my head. We make it to the office, only to see that a certain she devil is sitting there waiting for us. "Hello Brooklyn." I growl. She smirks at me , her tail curled as she hisses.

"Settle down!" Our principal shouts. I close my eyes, then re open them to find that Sage is pulling me into the principals office. Great. Just barking great!  "Savannah Reed, Brooklyn Hayes, Sage Bond. I do not even know WHERE to begin!"

"This morning, I heard a loud bang cime from the mens locker room, I was suspicious so I went in, do you know what I found?!!" I nodded. "Mr. Bond, would you be so kind as to finish my story?!"

He glares at my boyfriend. Sage tries to keep strong, holding back on tears he says, "Tom. He found Tom bleeding from his-from his skull. Lifeless on the ground." Sage lets one tear fall.

Our principal has never looked this ticked off before. "Yes, and THIS, was found under his collar." he chucks a folded note at my muzzle. "Open it Savannah." Brooke cries. I unfold it and put it infrontof all of us.

"I wish there were another way, there isn't. I love Savannah Reed, I shouldn't have hurt her. Sorry Brooke, I've gotten you into trouble too...forgive me both of you. And Sage, My man..I'm sorry. I've messed it up for you. If I could take back everything wrong I've done, I would.  I will miss you all. But I'm sure you three are the only ones I will effect...When a tree falls in a forest........does anyone..hear it?"

I burst into tears, as did Brooke, as did Sage. Our Tom is gone. He left us after we had a huge argument, he wanted to speak to me earlier, but I would not let him...

"What were the last words he said to each of you?"

Sage went first. "I'm sorry."

Brooke. "You may have a prefty face, but you have an ugly heart.."

Me. "I just wanted to say...Good bye."

We are sent away for the day. I go home with Sage, Brooke is most likley shopping her feelings away.  Sage offered to walk home with me, sense he decided to walk today too.

our walk is quiet and sad.

"I love you." He says to me. I stop and look at him. He shrugs. "Guess we never know when our last words., will be our last words." He says. I sniff in. "I love you too."I fall into his paws.  He holds me for most of the way, trying to get my mind off of Tom, he talks about the cherry blossoms on some trees.

We make it home and he stays with me until my parents get home. We sit on the couch, and soon fall asleep .
