Fortunately, everything had come to perfection. Everything was fine. In one of the cars were Rick, Carl, Judith and I. The others had gotten into the caravan. Rick's hand rested on my knee, I felt it tighten with nervousness. I caressed his arm with my hand, until finally I reached his hand and intertwined it with mine.
"We'll be fine," I promised with a smile toward the blue-eyed man. He nods and looks back at the road. I blink several times, trying to assimilate the image before me. There were big walls, it was perfect. We all smiled and got out of the car.
Rick takes Judith in his arms and takes my hand again, pulling me closer.
"Welcome to Alexandria!" Aaron said. "Open the doors!" The doors opened.
A man with curls opens it, letting us see a sight, a beautiful community, with houses and a lake in the background. The man who opened the doors looked at us like we were insects. I didn't pay attention to him and I continued to observe the place, while we slowly entered.
"Well, the best way is for them to talk to Deanna, she takes care of everything," Informs Aaron, "Follow me." I walk downt the streets, seeing the large number of people that lived here. They all whispered among themselves, never taking their eyes off us.
Rick takes his hand from mine, and just when I was going to protest, his hand was on my hip, beating me from complaining. With a serious expression, I looked to the right.
"Something doesn't feel right," He whispered in a hoarse voice. I obvserved the area, noticing a boy who was watching me with a smile, he seemed younger than me.
--
After the 'audition' or whatever, with Deanna, they all led us to our 'houses'.
"This will be yours," Aaron pointed excitedly toward the heavenly home. "You two will be living together? True? That is after everything that happened together..." I misunderstood.
"I said we watched you, I'm sorry." I raised my arm innocently.
"We're fine," Rick answered, putting his hand on my hip. He looked to the floor with discomfort.
"I'm leaving,"
"Thank you," Carl said. At least he was polite. I took initiative and stepped into the house first. While I was exploring the house I began thinking. What were Rick and I supposed to be? I had never asked to be his girlfriend. So what were we?
Rick walked in, taking my hand and pulling me to the last room in the long hallway. I take the doorknob and twist it open. In the room was a double bed, night tables at each side with lamps on, an individual sofa and another door.
"Ours," Rick whispered in my ear. I turn and I take his face in my hands. His hands run down to my stomach, until they reach my hips. I approach him, with the intention of sinking into his kisses.
"Oh my God!" Carl's scream pulls us apart abruptly, as we start running to his room. I open the door quickly and see the teenager admiring a large television set with a game console. "It's perfect," He said, still excited.
I was excited to see him that way. Like an ordinary teenager.
"Honey, you can play with that later, go and give yourself a good shower," I order, with a sweet tone. Carl nodded and we both left the room, to give him privacy. "You also need shower," I recommended amused, putting my arms on Rick's shoulders.
"What if you help me with that?" He answered in a hoarse voice. I raised an eyebrow.
"You're big now, you can do it alone." I say and give him the necessary things for his shower. Before I disappear through the door, I smack his ass. I ran down the steps before he could complain. I dedicated myself to putting my family's belongings in the washing machine, while I was waiting for a bathroom to become free.
The sound of a door being hit makes me stop my actions for a few minutes. I press the 'on' button and the machine starts to work. I open the door and find a blonde woman in the doorway.
"Hi, I'm Jessie," she said with a smile.
"Lea," I answer, trying to be as kind as possible.
"This is for you," I take a basket that had things for the home inside. I welcome her gratefully.
"What a beautiful baby," She complemented Judith, who was in my arms, playing with a teddy.
"Thank you,"
"Is she yours? What did she care?
"It is,"
"Honey, where's my shirt?" Rick interrupts, I turn to look at him. His bushy beard had disappeared completely and his face was clean. Although, I was not the only one who admired him. I leaned against the door frame, looking at the view. But so was Jessie.
"Thanks for the things," I smile, with the lips sealed. "Bye."
Without waiting for an answer, I close the door.
